Den Tilsandede Kirke

We parked in the near parking space and from there was a 5-10min walk to the buried church. There are stairs inside of the church that you can climb.

A 10 minute flat walk from the parking lot with a picnic area. The site is open 24/7 but the church itself is only open during regular hours.

We visited this place in July 2021. For a small fee, you can climb up into the old church tower from where there is a gorgeous view of the surrounding landscape. Was great fun for the family! However, if you are not totally steady on your feet, you might prefer to just enjoy the view from one of the benches outside the church. There are demarcations in the sand of the church's original perimeter. A fascinating visit, especially if you also get a chance to visit Råbjerg Mile, Rubjerg Knude and other sites that show how the sand is dominating and moving across the region.

Beautiful place. Swallows are nesting here. Ps. 84:3 ‘Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young— a place near your altar, Lord Almighty, my King and my God.’

Really nice place with a possibility to go inside and enjoy the view.

Far away from civilization, here's a church which will offer something different. Lovely old building in a wonderful natural landscape. Entrance to the church is free, as I understand it. Highly reccmmended!

Covered in sand. A little challenging to climb top the top of the tower, but fun at the same time. Also a great view from the top.

Interesting to see, cool you could go up the stairs to the top for a fantastic view! Also good parking place with clean toilets a few hundres meters from the church

Did not see it inside, but I had a stunning hike in the surrounding area.

Collapsed church still being engulfed by shifting sands. Set in an undulating nature preserve fragrant with the smell of warm pine. Heavenly except for the crowds.

You need to pay cash so that can be a problem. We bought something at the kiosk I'm the parking lot, and they were able to charge cash to our card. Even though the parking lot was pretty full, the church wasn't.

Climb to the top. It is a little narrow, but well worth it.

Such a pretty, sand-covered church. Only the bell tower is left but it's a very pretty and peaceful place. You can borrow or rent a bike and cycle from the main town of Skagen to here. The scenery along the road is also very beautiful. :-)

Worth a visit - short walk and great views

Very beautiful church with interesting history, easy to find from the parking place :)

Although it might still look as a complete Church, it is actually gone for 75%. Swallowed by the sand and slowly moving dunes. That's a very impressive thing to think about and is visually appealing by the way it is surrounded by sand and trees.

Lovely spot to see the landmark. Didn't have any coins to go up into the tower as it is 20kr each. Nice location for photographs.
