Amazing experience! Everything was very well organized: transfer from hotel, mountain/river route, a break with refreshments, wonderful nature sightseeing spots, river and of course well cared horses! Even our kids 9 and 11 y.o. enjoyed this excursion so much

Horses are well kept and free range in pasture until they are used.

This was our second tour first was the Beach tour wonder very romantico my girlfriend tells me one hour through the barrio many friendly children running out to see tje horses and waving screaming "caballo ahora aqui" followed by smiles from the children, the beach ride was amazing the horses are
Rescued and brough back well trained and gentle these are not abused horses she has a rotating so the rest this is a a AAA+++ TOUR Group operation. The whole tour was informative, educational. and above all safe. You can't go wrong the best experience on the north coast , but my best tour was by far the mountain river tour cant tell you how many times we crossed the river mostly through a river gorge steep lush hillside on both side and no "Mosquitos " perfect experience you can't go wrong on this tour

We visited Ute and her horses in April 2023 and had a great time. I strongly recommend doing a tour with her instead of doing any of the other horse riding tours in the area, as Ute's horses are treated ethically and allowed to live a good life with her on the ranch. She treats them kindly and does not overwork them.

We did a three hour (approximately) ride. We were all beginners, including two kids, and everything went fine, as Ute picks the appropriate horse for each rider. We saw beautiful countryside and developed comfort and basic horsemanship skills. 10/10! If I am in the area again, I will be sure to visit for another tour and to support this great organization.

Getting the chance to ride with Ute at Rancho el Contento was such an amazing experience. Every trip to the Dominican, we try and make time to get to go hangout and ride here. The work she does with taking care of these horses is amazing and the ride is a once in a lifetime experience.

My friends were initially a bit scared and too tired to join me, so I went to Rancho El Contento by myself for a half day ride. I had such an amazing time and was determined to go back again the next day. When my friends saw the videos I took on my ride, without much convincing on my part, they decided to join me the next day. We all had such a blast. The horses seemed very happy and healthy, and Ute and her team were very accommodating and professional. It was my favorite experience in the DR.

We took a 2 hours ride with kids, it took almost 3 hours. Price was around 140 eur, great service and very friendly staff.

We had the most amazing time with Ute and her team! From the beginning, they make sure you are comfortable and it's clear that they care for their horse and keep them healthy and in great working condition (they spend most of their time in large open pasture!) We had three children with us (10, 7, 4) and they had horses with the appropriate age, size, and temperament for all of us. The tour started through a local village where Ute pointed out local plants, schools, etc and we made our way into the mountains. After stopping for a soft drink in a local Dominican house we continued to the river where we spent the rest of the ride along and in the river. This was our favorite part! It was so serene and beautiful and the water felt good on a hot day. We even got a chance to stop and take a dip. One of the best parts is that they can tailor the ride to your riding preference. My older son wanted to ride a bit faster and they gave us several opportunities to let the horses run while my younger daughters stayed with one of the other guides and continued at a slower pace. Everything was perfect! I cant recommend them enough!

Ute and Fran are fantastic guides!!! I'm so glad I found Rancho el Contento. She treats her horses right! They aren't in small corals. They are out in the fields when they are not on rides. She rescues horses and does a fantastic job at it. THIS IS THE REAL DEAL!! YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED!!! Please support this ranch because she is helping horses! Worth every penny. We did a full day river tour, and I would advice everyone to do so. You will be stunned by the nature you see during the day. The tour is well organised, including lunch and a tour guide with knowledge. Ute takes great care of the horses, who are all rescued. They are well fed, they never walk two days in a row, and by asking your weight, height and experience, Ute matches you with the right horse. It was an absolute blast to have experienced this, best day of our trip to Dominican :)

Had an amazing tour! I don't have much experience with horseback riding, but Ute gave me the right horse. I would love to have had more time to do all the tours. Ute showed all the animals she has, and explained a lot about her work. Thanks for the great time!

Ute is a darling. Cares about her horses perfectly, in general, but especially compared to other horse back riding offers you might get on the beaches or at the hotel. Very fast response via messenger. Very fair prices and extraordinary tours away from tourism. DR is not just beaches, but especially back lands, hills, rivers and green all over. I have experienced a lot of horse tours in various countries. The best one was with Ute highly recommended for German speakers if you like to hear some detailed information about the country and backgrounds. Ute is German native, but also English and of course Spanish is more than fluent. Many thanks to Utes horses, Ute and her Team!!!

We took a mountain river tour a few months ago. I still dream about that beautiful day...the horses, the scenery, the company...all was on point. Highly recommend. You will not be disappointed.

It was the most memorable experience riding horse in the village, mountain and river. Ute, the owner of the ranch rescue the abandoned horses and takes good care of them. All the animals are happy and it was nice to hear her story. Highly recommended.

Cannot recommend Ute and her team more, this has been by far the best trip I've done in the DR. We were a small group of 3 + 2 guides and went for the full day mountain and river tour. It was just simply amazing and they took care of everything. Will definitely come back!! Thanks for everything Ute & team!

We (6 of us) had a blast with Ute on the Beach/Village 1/2 day tour. The Horses were awesome (I recommend Colorado) and well groomed (one of the reasons we chose Rancho El Contento). Of the 6 of us, we were of all riding experiences and Ute made everyone feel like a pro! BOOK THIS EXCURSION!!!!
