This location of Miguelina Panaderia has a large outdoor patio with a playground for children. The pan de queso was delicious, the habichuelas con dulce was very good, and all the bakery I've ever had here has been fresh and good. I also had a cappuccino with a nice foam.

This is my standard 'pit-stop' when traveling North. A quick breakfast, or a full sit down meal, snack or coffee on the go, it's all here. Clean, friendly and a great selection of food and treats, no wonder this place has it's 'must visit' reputation. Did I mention the food is great???

Best stop I’ve found on Highway 1. We’ve been stopping for years and are not disappointed. We have tried the other stops and always find them lacking.

Pros:

-Extremely clean restaurant and restrooms
-Very good food and baked goods
-Peaceful setting even though it’s next to highway
-Family friendly

Cons:

-Limited selection compared to competition.
-Pricy by local standards

Whenever you go to the Cibao, here its a must stop. They are not only a great bakery, they have a excellent menu of breakfast and lunch as well. The bathroom are very hygiene. Try “Quipe” that they have. One of the best grab and go things to eat that they have.

Excellent typical snacks and deserts right off the highway. A great place to stop on a trip to Move or Costanza.

One of the best bakeries of the Dominican Republic, when you travel from Santo Domingo to Santiago you must stop there, the best cookies, desserts, yogurt and cheese, they have also a restaurant with great local food and an area to buy fast food if you are in a hurry.

Great spot for breakfast or brunch. It’s very convenient since you just need to get off the highway. It’s a great location to stop after a drive from Santo Domingo about 1 hr more or less. It’s a great stopping point for bathroom break or just to grab some snacks

Amazing delicious local sweets and baked goods. Also probably the cleanest bathrooms of any parador. They even have mouth wash! 😎👍🏽

If you are on the main Autopista from Santo Domingo to Santiago, than this stop is obligatorio! You will find a very good restaurant with good international meals. Also they have a big backing and patisserie with a huge shop overthere. Also the restrooms are very good and with perfect service.
Many many locals have a stopover there, just for eating or buying some food. You can eat in the restaurant or take away your food.
If you are on the other way from Santiago to StoDgo, than you need pass the road, that's a little bit tricky, but it's worth the stopover. Enjoy it.

A must do stop between Santo Domingo and Santiago. The cleanest bathrooms on the entire island. Highly recommend the Catibias, gingers cookies and churumbeles.

Miguelina a top ranked stop on your way to the north (Cibao) section of the Dominican Republic. Excellent baked goods, one of the cleanest bathrooms in the country. (Having a clean bathroom to stop was the main priority of the owner when she opened the place many years ago). The fried-ready-to-eat items are delicious! That's where I head when I enter. They have cassava fried balls with cheese, meat kibbehs, shrimp and crab.

I had some issues with my flight in Santiago and had to fly out of Santo Domingo instead. This ended up being a blessing in disguise because my aunt recommended that my group and I stop here for some casabe (cassava bread) because theirs is good quality, it is already toasted and oiled up and easy to grab it to go. Outside of the foil packaging they serve it in being annoying to handle because it too is oily, the casabe itself is very good; I was happy to have purchased a few to bring back home with me. Their location had a variety of sweets and snacks but I can't really speak to anything else since I went there with a one track mind.

This is a really relaxing pitstop with a bunch of desserts y and homemade drink to choose from. You can also sit outside and relax before continuing your drive. They also had food items such as Empandas and cake.
