Monkeyland Puerto Plata

Worth every penny! We did this as an excursion in Puerto Plata while on the NCL Getaway about a week ago. The company does an amazing job at making sure everyone is able to interact with the squirrel monkeys. If I ever went back, I'd do it again in a heartbeat!

Second trip we have made here and it has never disappointed us. The monkeys are so cute and entertaining. They have made improvements to the facility and makes it much easier to get around as my wife is a disabled traveler. Cannot recommend more highly.

The monkeys were so cute and gentle, even when picking bits of fruit or seeds out of our hair when they dropped it on us. One guy did get peed on several times, so he might not have liked it, but we sure had fun laughing about it. Give it a go!

Went on this excursion through carnival cruise like. We did the monkey land and local drink tour. They had others, but we just wanted to see the monkeys. Don’t wear your good clothes. Monkeys like to pee on you. Highly recommend!

Great experience... more than just playing with the adorable monkeys- a real taste of Dominican culture as well.

If you have never experienced this before in your life, this is a must! Recently, I did this excursion for the first time, and it did not disappoint! The squirrel monkeys here are so curious and friendly you are guaranteed to leave with a smile!

This place was amazing! It far exceeded my expectations of thinking that I was going to be able to look at monkeys from a distance or if I was able to get close to them that it would only be for a split second. The tour began with us learning more about the Dominican Republic and some of their amazing assets from coffee and cacao. We were then able to taste both hot chocolate and coffee that was ground in our presence using tools that they have used for years. We then got to visit with a parakeet and take pictures. Then it was off to the monkeys where there had to be at least 10 to 12 monkeys in this area as the trainer would go around giving sunflower seeds to us and the monkeys climbing all over us to get the seeds. This didn't happen once he continued to go around in a circle amongst all of us for almost 30 minutes. This was mind-blowing and so much fun. I definitely would suggest a trip to this location they also have a really nice shop to buy some of these items as well as some alcoholic items and other souvenirs.

We was on a 6day cruise and did this establishment as a excursion. Best time in the world. Money well spent visiting there area of the island. Great time with Veronica learning about coco, vanilla, and there living arrangements. We was filled with excitement while visiting, playing, feeding, and learning about the Monkeys. Julio, Christian, Jaun, Lynn, was very informative about how the 🐒 live their daily lives. They helped us feed them and enjoy the Monkeys company the whole trip. Very polite business and I love how family orientated they was. My son enjoyed all their workers help with learning about the beautiful 2pound Monkeys. And the Alpa monkey was his favorite when he sat on my head to eat Sunflower seeds. Leaving the shell in my hair. We laughed and smiled the whole time. 🐵

My wife and I had a wonderful time on this excursion from our cruise. Daniel was a great guide who answered all our questions and made the experience very enjoyable. I highly recommend it.

This was one of the most amazing experiences I’ve had and my son said it was the best birthday he has ever had (and this was his big 21). Our guide was amazing!

This was a highlight of our cruise. Even though it was short (about 45 minutes to an hour with the monkeys), it was amazing to have them run all over you. Took a ton of pictures and got to watch my daughters and wife smile the biggest smiles. I’m not going to lie, even I had the biggest smile. They are very cute. The only thing I would change about the tour is the secondary tour about the houses and coffee. We really just wanted to see the monkeys 🙊 lol.

This was an absolutely amazing experience! The monkeys are so adorable and the guides are terrific! Will definitely be going back next time

If you’re in this area of the Dominican Republic, you must come here! What an amazing time and was one of the highlights of our 7 day trip! Great for couples and families

Fun thing to do! Guides we're great and did work hard to get monkeys to climb on you and take great photos.
Had local coffee tasting and Mama Juana tasting, good stuff!

Loved Monkeyland!!! Wanted to bring one home!! The little monkeys are so cute and sweet, but they do love the handlers!! Really enjoyed this excursion!! The little girl that was doing the presentation was awesome and really knew her information. Full of knowledge!! Great place!!
