Superbe lodge in front of Cotopaxi ! Great service of the lodge team, they are all very helpful. The breakfast is always good and filling for the day of hiking. Diner is always early which makes sense since it is good to wake up early to have the best landscapes. Overall I recommend.
I would also recommend the horse riding it was great.

What a perfect place to stay! Hospitality is excellent. Food was fresh and delicious. And most importantly the view from the room was unreal of Cotopaxi! Thank you Tambopaxi!

Awesome quality steak, locro, and everything right at the base of a great Cotopaxi hike. Very kind service and nicely kept dining room. Colorful and high-quality everything. Beautiful scenery of course, riding horses, wild horses, wild flowers. Great people and really nice chocolate mousse

As others have said, the view of Cotopaxi is great. The rooms are basic but good, it was nice that they got a fire started in the stove for us. The lodge itself is cozy and the food was good. The staff was pretty laid back, but friendly and helpful.

Great for a quick get a go from Quito. Wild horses roaming by. Potato soup and the trout are always good dish choices. Sometimes, hummingbirds get up close to the restaurant.

Beautiful place. Wonderful location. Friendly staff. Simple fresh food. Suggest that they use a few solar LED lights for footpath. Also it's at 12300 feet so altitude can be a problem. Take some time and do visit. Sunrise is beautiful

Good value for money. Stayed in a private room with fireplace inside the room. Good service, good food with reasonable portion for starving hikers, and stable hot shower. If weather permits, can see Cotopaxi from your door step.

While the lodge provides free WiFi with strong connection, power will be off roughly between midnight to 6am in the morning. Charge your phone or electronics before midnight.

This lodge is gorgeous. It’s in the national park - the scenery is unreal. We even saw wild horses. The staff is incredibly sweet and the food was yummy. The lodge was very clean, too! Very impressed and cannot wait to return! Keep in mind that if you’re staying here to acclimate, you’ll most likely be put in the dorm style room.

Wonderful clean and comfy rooms. Super quiet with great views of the surrounding mountains including Cotopaxi when it's clear out.

The one thing I could complain about would be the fact that the electricity comes from a generator, which cannot be heard but reduces the natural feel of the place I'm making it feel less sustainable.

What an amazing place, you get the best view of the Cotopaxi Volcano. The staff is kind and the amenities are cozy and beautiful.

A special Andean hotel/restaurant that feels like a high end Alpine ski chalet resort. If you are doing climbing this is the best place to acclimatise, if doing a private tour of Cotopaxi this is the place to eat.

Astonishing location and views of Cotopaxi volcano and many other natural attractions around.
The place is perfect to eat or stay the night, good food, friendly staff, and very cozy.
I recommend to hire the service of horseback riding or dirt bike riding.

Early check in, nice quiet dorm room, decent dinners and great breakfasts.
I wasn’t able to reserve a room via email, but they responded quickly on WhatsApp.
Pleasant walk to Laguna Limpiopungo, and around the hotel.

Our stay at Tambopaxi Lodge has been a while ago, but I still remember it like yesterday, so here's my review:
Even going there (we rent a car) was just such an experience. To ride along the road towards this beautiful volcano and you pass all this fascinating land, just an adventure in itself...and after a long, exhausting but still awesome ride, so hungry and in need for a shower, you finally see this beautiful, mesmerizing orange/red-ish building is just sitting there, in front of the massive and simply beautiful Cotopaxi.
We had booked 2 nights at a double room at the little house down the cute lil creek, over the even cuter lil bridge. We were welcomed so nice and I think it was great, that even though the menu of course is limited in such a rural, natural area, there was a great mixture between local foods WICH were delicious, and some international meals like Spaghetti as well.
We all just loved and enjoyed sitting in that big dining room, with the window fronts, having a warm Canela after hiking the freezing volcano we were now just looking at through that beautiful, warm, wooden heated room. Or a warm local soup after a day riding horses through the beautiful canyon.
OH, that's another great, and romantic thing. Since it's kinda cold in this area at night, there was personal coming to our room, if we asked for it, to light the chimney/fire place and make it cozy for us. That was just so romantic, laying in bed, listening to the calming sounds of fire, the room getting cozy. Just pure perfection.
I also liked how sustainable some things were designed, and I don't mind smaller menues/not super luxurious bathrooms etc, cause you always have to know where you are and what luck you have to even experience such magical places. You do not always need a super hot 20min shower, etc etc.
So I just wanna say, that we all loved our stay there, it was a beautiful, magical, romantic and visual stunning experience, filled with great food, warm drinks, friendly people and cozy rooms. I can recommend this very very much.

A lifesaver when you visit Cotopaxi National Park. You have wifi access, tasty menu options and relaxing sofas to rest after your long trip. It is not a big place but a cozzy one. It has lodging options but I have never stayed there.
You can rent a horse ride. Excellent option if that's your cup of tea.

Mini Review - clean, comfortable, with great service

Ok, now to get into it. First of all, if your climbing Cotopaxi like we are, this is a perfect place to spend the few days before. At 12,500ft, you’ll start to acclimatize just being here. We have a rental car, which allows us to take short drives to nearby volcanoes for further acclimatization hikes. Roads are rough and our compact sedan made it but it’s strongly recommended an SUV or pickup.

If you’re just into the outdoors and taking it easy, it’s also great. Wild horses by the dozen, hummingbirds, and bunny’s are your neighbors. The views are utterly amazing. Lots of easy and medium hikes accessible just by walking out front.

Food is good for where you are, an hour’s drive from the nearest outpost of civilization.

And I want to correct a previous review, showers can be as hot as you can handle. Maybe they had a problem one night?

Also, the rooms are heated by this cool wood fire stove. Combined with the views, you feel like your glamping more than a hotel. Don’t forget to add a log before bed though. They get it cooking at 6:00 so the room is always warm but if you don’t add a log before bed, it’ll be a little chilly in the am.

I’m just going to add this again, great service. Everyone is helpful and polite.

I shared a VIP room with a fellow climber as we acclimatized. What a room and what a view! We went for dinner at 6 and someone lit the wood burning heater in our room. So cozy. Food was excellent service wad excellent. Highly highly recommended!

The lodge is beautiful and the surroundings are beautiful - if you're there all day, you wilil surely get a clear view of Cotopaxi, Antisana, and Sincholagua also some wild horses. Menu del dia for. lunch and dinner is $18 and very good. Staff is super accommodating - they left tea and hot water in a thermos for me in advance of my 5:30 trek. Everything you would expect from a hostel/hotel - wifi is available although power goes off around 9-10pm each night. One great thing is that Tambopaxi is in the National park, so you can start hiking any time, rather than waiting for the park to open.

This place is unique! Inside the Cotopaxi Reserve Park and the closest to the Cotopaxi Volcano. The views here are outstanding, during the day the volcano and the valley views are superb and at night the heavens open to all stargazers to mesmerize you! Service is one the best, the food at their restaurant is very good, I definitively recommend this place. I will be back!
