Nicky Amazon Lodge

Our stay at Nicky Amazon Lodge was definitely a highlight. Located in the middle of the jungle, we spent four wonderful days here exploring nature.

Our guide, Rom, was very knowledgeable and helped us spot various animals and always gave some insightful background knowledge. We felt that he really cares about nature and making it accessible to tourists.

The accommodation was very good as well. Nice and clean rooms, good facilities and very good food. The entire staff cared for our well-being and provided an overall excellent service!

An incredible jungle lodge with amazing staff! I can't fault the service - Rom, Angie, Fredi, Pedro and the rest of the team were so welcoming and friendly from the minute we were picked up to the moment we left!
Rom & Pedro are passionate and knowledgeable guides who clearly care deeply for the environment and communities they work in. Fredi cooked excellent food each day and even gave us a few songs on the guitar before we departed.
We were lucky to be part of a very small group during our visit, but the activities felt authentic and not "touristy", we saw numerous different animals undisturbed in their natural habitat.
The beds are comfortable, showers are hot and rooms are spacious. The small additional cost compared to other lodges was more than worth it in my opinion. 100% recommend.

Beautiful little place tucked away in the Ecuadorian Amazon. The rooms are beautiful and the staff is very caring. Our guide Rom went above and beyond to show us all the wonders of the jungle and the lodge seems to have a great relationship with both nature and the local people.

Absolutely amazing experience. Already had high expectations, but it has exceeded all my expectations. And the food experience was actually the best I ate in Ecuador. The staff was lovely en we were treated as royal family. They have a true eye for hospitality. An example: the last day it rained and we were packing our bags. When we opened our door the staff left us an umbrella to use.

All in all, incredible experience! Also the guide, Angie, was so enthusiastic and had so much knowledge of the surroundings. We saw so much wildlife: tarantula, kaaiman, 7 types of monkeys, sweet water dolphins, Arapaima, birds. Totally recommend!

I came end of November on my own for a 2 nights / 3 days trip.

Our group guide Jefferson Morales (you can follow him on instagram) was amazing, he knew the jungle perfectly ! He is surely passionate about animals and jungle life, also an amazing photographer.

Amazing nature, food, guides, and very well run!

We had many great excursions 3-4 times a day: canoeing, nature walks, and cultural experiences. All fascinating and so worth the trip!

We were able to see some absolutely incredible wildlife (monkeys, birds, dolphins, caymen, etc.) The rooms were comfortable with private bathrooms and bug nets. The lodge has a great common area as well to get to know the guides and fellow travelers.

Our guide, Evi, was such a delight and highlight of the trip!

We did the week long camping trip with Nicky lodge and Dracaena Tours.
It was an amazing introduction to the Amazon rainforest.

Our guide Romulo, is very knowledgeable, attentive and pleasant.
The rest of the team, Remigio, Carlos and Byron were also a joy to have on our trip.
We were in great hands.

We felt spoiled with three meals a day, but it was always delicious and nutritious.

It's a birder's paradise, we saw caymans, dolphins, otters.

Highly recommend it as a way to get an introduction to the Amazon.

Wow! What a great place this is. About a 2 hour motorised canoe ride down the Cuyabeno River from the Cuyabeno Bridge lies this resort. Several very large wooden cabanas, some compromising of 3 double rooms, and a large communal Hut with kitchen and sitting area surround a small open grass area. Many daily activities keep you occupied and the food is exceptional and plentiful. Three course meals, different every day, and free tea, coffee etc. there is also a fully stocked bar to purchase any drink you like. Every now and again you get given little surprise snacks. Our guide, Jefferson, is the most knowledgeable guy you’ll meet. He is not only a fountain of knowledge about every single animal, insect, plant and tree but also very passionate and genuinely loves this place and his job. What Jungle Jeff doesn’t know is not worth knowing.

We'd realy enjoyed our time at the lodge! The cosy and peacefull lodge is a good place to find some rest, but in the mean time have a good time watching animals. Food is great too, well organized. Thanks for the great days we had!

Our stay in Cuyabeno at Nicky Lodge was amazing, fantastic, unforgettable!
Everything is well organised, the lodge is truly beautiful and the rooms are specious, nice, with big bathroom. Mosquito net is there to protect for the night, electricity on off few hours a day.
Food is good and well prepared, tea an coffee always available.
The activities are really nice and unforgettable. The guides are so well prepared and knowledgeable!
The only neff he active feedback goes to the company doing the transport to and from Quito/Cuyabeno. Very long journey with a tight seats bus, no usb, no toilet. That can improve a lot!

He showed us so many animals and plants during our activities. We had an amazing time. The staff was very welcoming and the service and food were excellent. We hope to come back at some point. If you're planning to visit the amazon in Ecuador, we highly recommend this lodge!

If you're looking for wildlife, this place is second to none. We saw an Anaconda, many species of monkey, caiman, and well over one hundred species of birds in 2 days here. We also saw river dolphins.

Nicky Amazon lodge was amazing! Our guide Rom was knowledgable, informative and engaging. The itinerary each day was a perfect balance of busy with canoe tours, jungle walks and a visit to a local village as well as leaving time to relax at the camp as well. The food was delicious and the accommodation comfortable and the perfect location. Would highly recommend!

Yes. Nicky lodge is the best after I heard stories on the bus back to Quito. I already enjoyed it, but the comparison confirmed it. They really take care of you in terms of food, planning, needs, guides, and many more. We got plenty of food, and after a return of a tour in the sun, we got a refreshing beverage. Well guided troughs the tours what to wear etc. Perfect combo of relax to read a book and to enjoy the stories en explanations of the guide! No internet, but this was the best. Finally after 2 months traveling I actually got to be off the grid… thanks Nicky lodge! All the best and book this lodge! Price/ kwality at is best!

We were in Nicky's for 5 days. It was a great experience! Our guide Jefferson told us a lot about the local flora and fauna. We learned a lot. The visit to the indigenous community was also very interesting. The food was good, sufficient and always tasty. Also for the vegetarian guests was cooked very well. Jhonatan helped a lot with the planning (bus trip and accommodation). We can definitely recommend Nicky's!

The most wonderful experience! My husband and I did the 5 day/4 night trip and Nicky Lodge exceeded all expectations! The rooms were beautiful, clean and relaxing. The food was next level incredible and the chef even did a special meal for us for Christmas. Our guide, Rom, was incredible. So passionate about nature, knowledgeable and fun! This trip was the highlight of our Ecuador vacation.

We had the experience of a lifetime at Nicky lodge!! Our host Rom was beyond friendly and truly knew the jungle like only someone who has grown up there could. On our boat drive in, we saw Pink river dolphins, Amazon gorillas, sloths, macaws, squirrel monkeys - and so much more, just in our first 3 hours!

The rest of our days were spent seeing many more amazing creatures, sunset swimming in the lagoon, learning about the local indigenous communities, and eating amazing meals cooked by the Nicky Lodge kitchen. They even baked a cake and had a musical performance for my girlfriends birthday.

If you are thinking about visiting the Ecuadorian Amazon, you should without a doubt stay with Nicky lodge!! And say hi to Rom for us : )
