Valaste Waterfall

Extremely beautiful! Once you walk down through the forest you end up with an amazing view of the rough sea. There are quite a bit of stairs but steps are small so kids can do it easily. It is not stroller friendly.

Nicely renovated staircase wich leads to sea near the creek. It’s quite small waterfall by ammount of water. Great view to Gulf of Finland. Place has a parking lot, wc, seating places, information table and a small cafe 50m away.
Place is quite crowdy, especially at the summer and weekends.

Came in a dry season. Best season - march - April. We had a fresh squeezed juice at the bar across the road. Free of charge.

Waterfall and 1.5km study trail along the coast. Area on the top of the waterfall has benches and a cafe where you can buy a coffee.

You can get to this place by bicycle from Jõhvi through Kohtla-Järve, two thirds of the route has a bicycle road, but the last part ~5km doesn't, but there's no traffic though.

It took me 1.5hr to get to this place with a tour bicycle.

You can return back the same way or cycle to the south straight towards Jõhvi, so you will make a circle.

Beautiful waterfall in a completely unexpected place. We were surprised by the enormous effort they put in making stairs for descending the cliff, in this seemingly unvisited place.

Highly recommend visiting this place, beautiful place, only downside if you're afraid of heights.

Nice place . Sadly there wasn't water. Just 388 stairs down to the sea.

Beautiful little campingplace, which is for free. It goes from one parking place to other one, the middle road is on a sea rocky beach. And there is a restaraunt on the other side of the road, which is convenient

A good place to train your feet

Great view of the unique Valaste waterfall the highest in Estonia and in the region and the Gulf of Finland. The view is magnificent when there has been a cold weather and the waterfall is all frozen. The stairs are open now and you can go all the way down to the shore now where the hiking trails begin.

They've done a proper job renovating the waterfall stairs. Also there is a nice cliff side trail next to it. Enter the trail from the next parking which is 2 km further west. Excellent renovation job ! To whom it may concern
