This is a recently reopened site after thorough cleaning and restoration, which was still ongoing in 2024. Stunning pillars and mind-blowing paintwork, and not at all busy. Easy walk from the dock through small Bazar with annoying street hustlers.

One of my favorite temples in Egypt. Although small it’s worth going to see. The paint is so beautiful. I could stare up at the ceiling for hours but I would get a crooked neck. At the time of visit they had some scaffolding and were doing some restoration on one end of the temple.

The workers at the shop that you pass through were not aggressive in their hustle.

A spectacular temple. Not to be missed. It's a small place but more than makes up for it by the unbelievable work , colours and details on the columns. It's a highlight of my trip to Egypt.

Absolutely a must stop when traveling Egypt. A detailed ceiling Hieroglyphic detailing of the phases of the moon and the Star Sirius. I was blown away, and I had seen so much of Egypt. When I return, Esna will be one stop I won’t miss.

It is an amazing place, one of the best preserved temples in Egypt. The colours are original and have been cleaned.

Very nice temple. You can see detailed carvings with colors as they used a chemical to remove the smoked without harming the color.

This was used as a place to be for the christians that is why some figures are damange… people lived inside because the temple was covered with mud all, mostly half was under mud.

Also you can see on top top the gunshots from Napoleon invasion trying to hit people that where covered inside

One of the most beautiful hidden underrated gems in Egypt. It is a magical temple surrounded by all services needed, close by the Nile, and many near by restaurants, cafes, and authentic souvenir stores.

To get to this place you have to walk through the maze of shops, trying to sell you a whole bunch of things that you do not want. if you try to engage with any of the seller, then beware, they will latch onto you like a leech Best to avoid eye contact with any seller. There are whole bunch of kids asking for money.

Walk around the temple because you do not want to miss sidewalls.

Absolutely love love love, this small treasure we found.
It is perhaps the smallest temple you will see, but it is the most magnificent you will experience. The temple has 2 sides with 12 columns each representing the 12 hours of day and night. The centre panel has 12 vultures representing the same. We came in by 10 am and we were the only ones here so had a good time to view the spectacular art on the columns, walls and ceiling. A ticket, costs 100 Egyptian Pounds per person.

Amazing Temple in Esna on the Nile, normally skipped by many tourists. The colours are simply amazing and bring to life the hieroglyphics.

The crocodile pun hymn is pretty cool. This one also had amazing colours on the roof that are in the process of being restored.

Very ornate. The columns were all very intricately carved. Also they have been removing soot and cleaning them and the colors are marvelous.

One of the smallest temple (what's left of it) but one of the most pleasant to visit, plus its location in the heart of the city gives it a certain atmosphere.
the columns are simply beautiful.

This temple has beautiful colored ceilings and columns. It isn't much from the outside, but don't let that fool you. The inside is absolutely amazing.

Amazing ruins in the middle of a small area you wouldn't expect to see ! Surrounded by crumbling houses. They are still working in the grounds and digging. Also tryimg to restore it. Guarded by night and day. Looks amazing. We was fortunate enough to see it with our guide at 6 o'clock in the morning before it got busy with the locals.

looked like it would be cool to see in the light of day, but I did not get a chance to see it then.

The temple is quite small but has some amazing paintings with very vibrant colors. It's totally worth it to visit it.

Hidden Gem - off the beaten path!

We had this monument all to ourselves!
The coloration is incredibly well preserved, and to think this temple is over 3000 years old!

We hired a driver for the day and headed up from Luxor.

10/10 recommend

Extremely detailed carvings and paintings in this temple. They are still undergoing excavation to find more artefacts. Very interesting would recommend a visit as this is a very well preserved.

It will be one of the best after the restauration.
Thank you for what you are doing but we will appreciate if you can rush a bit to be able to finish by the end of the current year.
They are only removing dust and black smoke from it and the conclusion is that the main colors are now well seen.
Great achievement and very hard work.
It is the only one with a completed ceiling and I recommend that you all go and visit the temple.
Please feel free to ask me an questions.
All the best.
