Abydos

One of my three favorite sites in Egypt, and one of the most important sites in the country. Highlights were the Abydos Kings List, the lighting inside and the "helicopter" hieroglyphs, which are simply words on top of words that got damaged and now look like modern things.

In all my visits in Egypt I never said yes to a guide. But I was greeted by Mahmoud, and his approach was different and without pressure. His stories and explanations were amazing (we had the temple to ourselves for most of the time) and the information I learned was invaluable. If you visit the temple, look or ask for him, he shares whatever you give him with the guards inside.

This is a smaller temple along a dirt track away from the main one. Had a guard take me and unlock the gate entrance so maybe ask. Temple of Ramses. Interesting carvings and looks like excavations are ongoing.

Very nice archeological Egyptian site.

One of the best temples in Upper Egypt.
Very nice designed and the temple is big enough.
Great potential for new business.
Only the surrounding is not great.
The colors are magnificent.

Temple of Seti first in Abydos is really very Nice place the temple has a wonderful depictions, it consider one of the best and well preserve colors and also the depictions in a good condition

Greatness and many stories and history in the place you should take a tour guide with you to enjoy it all , it is the only temple (tomb ) in ancient Egypt with slab ( roof), seti 1 was father of ramses which continued the building process after his father dies , also ramses ruled for more than 60y and had a great military power ....... Welcome to Egypt ☀

Este templo al igual que el de Dendera no son casi visitados, estabamos solos y vale la pena.

Simplemente Maravilloso. Muchos dicen que no es necesario ir, que es muy lejos y otras excusas. Pero realmente vale la pena todo el esfuerzo para visitar el que es, a mi parecer, uno de los mejores templos de Egipto. Trata de ir con calma y observar cada detalle. Lo amé, fue un sueño poder estar allí 🙌🙌

Abydos is al oud en het bezoek levert een bijdrage aan de kennis over het oude Egypte.
De stargate is verrassend en er door gaan naar het rijk van Osiris nog veel bijzonderder
Het overzicht van alle farao's is lang....De hiërogliefen over de tank , helikopter , onderzeeër zijn lachen, zeker als je weet hoe ze zijn ontstaan en geloof de ancient alien wappies daar maar zeker niet in
