An impressive structure carved into the rock face at the cliff’s edge, offering a breathtaking view. Architect Cesar Marique demonstrated here the seamless fusion of art and architecture. It’s also the perfect spot to unwind on sunny days with refreshing drinks while enjoying a stunning view of another island.

What a place! Beautiful road to get to the viewpoint, parking right outside, cheap entrance then enter the cave, and see the island of La Graciosa. There’s a car ferry every hour. All the houses are built on sand. No main roads apparently. Had a periquita coffee (yum) and a tea. Lots of pics and definitely worth a visit to see.

Amazing place with amazing view and nice architecture.
The price to enter was 8€, which was a bit on the more pricey side.
Food inside is reasonable price 2€ for coffee.

There is parking in front of entere, and a bigger one nearby - 2 minutes walk. Free of charge both.

Amazing views from the top. Even though the day we went the wind was really strong, the views of the northern tip of Lanzarote and La Graciosa islands were fantastic!
The restaurant inside is also a nice spot to enjoy a quick bite/coffee while appreciating the outdoor views.
TIP: as you exit the Mirador del Rio, take the scenic route (to your right) along the cliffs for more breathtaking views

We came from Finland for one day to see this beauty. We came with Ryanair (Rovaniemi-London-Lanzarote 6000km flight)

We loved this place! The entrance fee is 8€. There are toilets, cafe, souvenir shop and absolutely astonishing view!!! You can park your car and walk 10 meters towards entrance. You can also order drinks and snacks from the bar. I tried local white wine, prices are small. You can make amazing videos and pictures there. There are steps and if you come with children - be careful on the steps.
We enjoyed coffee and muffing in cafe with amazing view. This place is easy to find since it is well marked.

Amazing views of La Graciosa. Definitely worth visiting, easy parking in January, not too busy in the afternoon but I can see how it may get really busy during high season. The cafe is nice where you can sit and enjoy the view.

Great views from this point. Fantastic place to watch the sunset. Definitely recommend. You can enjoy views without paying any fees. Parking available too. Didn’t find any toilets unless you pay and go into the paid viewing gallery designed by Cesar Manrique. Its opening hours are 10:00-17:00. Great views of La Graciosa and the other small islands from here too.

Must visit scenic spot In Lanzarote. In the pic is the La Graciosa island which is least explored and most peaceful and serene of the Canary Islands. Max length of this is 29.05km2 area.

The El Mirador del Río viewpoint is located 500 meters above a cliff and offers spectacular panoramic views of Lanzarote and the Chinijo archipelago.

Inaugurated in the 70s, it is one of César Manrique's most representative architectural works for the integration of the human hand into the natural environment, a harmonious formula that combines art and nature.

Its entrance is guarded by a sculpture by Manrique depicting a bird and a fish. They are a metaphor for water and air, the elements of the larger presence in the environment.

After passing through an impressive entrance we find two impressive arched windows. They are the eyes of the viewpoint through which Manrique has conceived an exceptional panoramic view.

From here we can see the slopes of the Risco de Famara, and then we see El Río: a narrow strip of sea that gives the viewpoint its name and separates Lanzarote from La Graciosa, the eighth Canary Island.

Behind them are the Montaña Clara, Roque del Oeste and Alegranza mountains, which together with the Roque del Este form the Chinijo archipelago, a small archipelago known for its volcanic landscapes and its rich marine protected area, currently the largest in Europe. is unique worldwide.

Inside the Mirador there are two large sculptures by Manrique and other decorative details typical of the artist, as well as the spiral staircase, a bar-cafeteria area, the spectacular upper terrace and the gift shop.

The construction of El Mirador took two years and was supervised by Eduardo Cáceres and Jesús Soto. First, the site was excavated and, once the work was completed, it was covered with volcanic rock so that it would harmonize with the surroundings and respect the landscape features that characterize Manrique so much.

One of the best places in the island, you can see beautiful views of the La Graciosa island and the sea down below. The entry is 5€, which are worth it. There also is the possibility to eat in a small bar with a view.

Beautiful viewpoint in Lanzarote about 500 above the cliff. Having tickets in advance help for a fast and smooth entry. Up there gets windy and for some even too cold so bring a jacket just in case. The view of La Graziosa is breathtaking from there. It’s a must if you are in Lanzarote

Is this worth it? For some people in my group this was the highlight of Lanzarote. If you have been to Madeira and liked it, this brings back some memories from there.

Really worth going, if a nice weather I recommend coming very shortly after opening, its calm and quiet. 1hour in and it gets very busy. The Mirador has a closed up coffee shop with basic refreshment options. The views of La Graciosa are gorgeous.

Great place for a visit with stunning views. You can also have something to eat and drink. We went with a coach tour. I would recommend going by car and spending more time having something to eat and take in the views.
