Amora Gedel Park

The wildlife is so vibrant in the park. Many animals and birds to see in close proximity. Different kinds of huge trees, and everything on the lake bank make very pictures environment. Many of the wildlifes I've seen for the very first time in my life. I was really excited and enjoyed the park. It's just pity that I found quite a lot of plastic garbage around the park.

Best and affordable park.
Entrance is 50birr.
And if you want photo with digital camera you pay 20birr per photo.

Must go if you are an animal lover. The park is full of animals and you can feed them yourself if you don’t mind tipping the people around you they will provide you food for animals and photo opportunities.

Really amazing place. We stay in Lewi resorts, nice view and friendly wild animals.

Eventhou we have paid for 3 person 300 birr which is out of normal price, they charged us as 6 person lol well not only that small bajaj took 1000 birr ,which i never saw even in addis Uber .. its for 5 minut drive to this place and bring us back to lewi resort. It's not something to ignore! Hope they will be corrected soon. This is not right! ...but we enjoyed our short stay in awasa

i expected a really crowded place but its a decent place

Amora Gedel is one of the city attractions in Hawassa. A good time can be spent on the shores of the lake. It's the monkeys that make us have the most fun. However, it is necessary to be careful not to grab things and run away.

Its a lakeshore park where you can watch birds, get some food and drink service, boat service, photograph services, etc.

The air condition is interesting and the view is attractive. The lake is a bit dirty in the shores which needs attention but its still good to have fun on the shore.

I love this place. It's feel better place for relaxing.

You can enjoy the fresh fish early morning .There is a boat ride cost around 800-1000 birr to see the hippos and a hour ride around the late its a beautiful site amoung the mountains around.

The city Hawassa in Winter (dry season here) is relatively hot. The good part is, if someone wants to enjoy the on shore of the Lake and the breathe of the natural forest, Amora Gedel Park is the best place. Moreover, animals like colobus monkey (locally know as Gureza), monkey, different colorful birds from many species are almost equevalent to the members of your family at home, when they take part with you. Get it soon!
