So we only ate at the restaurant and did not stay at the hotel just to clarify. The food was exquisite, the service was Immaculate and the timing of our meal was everything. We arrived before sunset and were able to see the most breathtaking sunset I've ever seen. The food is diverse and includes Ethiopian favorites alongside some international cuisine. Make sure to try the crepes with banana and honey. Simply to die for. When you're in Lalibela, be certain to dine at this location even if you choose not to stay at the hotel.

The food was good and I recommend shepherd pie. The owner of the restaurant was super friendly. He invited us to join the camp fire after dinner and showed us around.

Such a great place to visit during the sunset. Our guide made a reservation so we got a table just by the balcony. It gets busy but well worth it. The food is great, a fusion between African and western cuisine. It does get cold since it’s on the edge cliff so bring warm clothes however the restaurant provided us with blankets also.

My review of today visit. October 2020
Restaurant reopened, and I was the first foreign guest since the beginning of the pandemic. First of all, the view and the design of the place are superb. The most beautiful Ethiopian sunset that I seen so far.
The place is on the outskirts of the village, the food tasty. The main road in the region is mostly under construction, so a local transport is desirable. :)

Incredible architecture and views from this restaurant (sadly you cannot see the churches from here though). The Scottish owner, Susan, is also lovely to talk to and service is good - our lunch was very slow due to a number of tour groups being there. Because the churches are closed between 12 and 2pm I suspect the restaurant is always busy at these times.

Fresh juice was delicious. Also it is reassuring that they use boiled water to wash their vegetables. The food was all right but go for the views and the experience.

Absolutely a great place whether you come here for the panoramic view, food, architectural playfulness of the restaurant itself or a stroll. It gets busy towards sunset, but you will get your food/drink. An excellent spot for reading a book quietly in the morning or admiring the view in solitude.

This restaurant isn’t the most popular in town for no reason. The food is great—don’t miss the Ethiopian Shepherds Pie for sure—but you’ll stick around for the atmosphere. Susan, the Scottish proprietor, is lovely to chat with. Overall a great experience each of the three times we are here. Note that service is slow when they are just opening for breakfast or when they are slammed at peak meal times.

Amazing futuristic crazy architecture in the heart of Lalibela. The food was great, we had tibs and local bread that they made in the restaurant. We also had local red wine which was fantastic.

Me and my friend came ordered a nice meal and a bottle of wine during the sunset. We both agreed it was the best meal we ever had. The food was amazing the wine was great. The service was top class and the view was spectacular not to mention the design of the building and kind boss from Scotland making her dream com true in Lalibela

For sure the coolest restaurant in Lalibela. The food was good enough, the prices are okay, the service was friendly. The views were breath taking and the architecture just awesome. Deff recommend checking this place out if you are in lalibela. Oh and try the goat burger because I went two days in a row and they were out of stock :(

Must visit place. It has incredible views what give unforgettable expirience but additionally the food is good. I had a problem with my stomach because of ethiopian spicy and fat food but the meals served in this restaurant are fusion of Ethiopian and European kitchen what was acceptable by my belly, and was really tasty! We actually back another day! Recommend in 100%

Visited this restaurant a few years back. Incredible. Even if it is a bit out of your way, you should definitely check this place out. I don't remember the food/drinks (although I'm sure they were awesome), but I do remember the architecture and the incredible view. There was a lighting storm happening a few kilometres away, and we watched it from the restaurant's outdoor terrace area while we enjoyed our food. There were a number of memorable experiences during my Lalibela trip, but this stood out as one of the highlights.

Actually really good food! We visited this when we were here prior to the pandemic and was amazed at the quality of the service and food. Lovely setting with great views of the area. Would love to re-visit once the pandemic quietens down a bit.

Gorgeous restaurant! Every part of this experience was really great. We made a reservation to have dinner and watch the sunset and when we arrived they had a table reserved for the top terrace during sunset, and another table below for dinner when it gets cold after dark. It does get cold so definitely dress accordingly, they also had blankets there that you could use. The owner and the staff were very nice. The food was good and reasonably priced. There are a lot of gorgeous views in Lalibela, but I think this is the best one (that you don't have to hike to). If you're in Lalibela I highly recommend that you have a meal here.

Exceptional views for sunset - the architecture and decoration is beyond interesting (a lot of thought put into every detail) and the Scottish owner lady was delightful to talk to. Loved the avocado smoothie

A totally outstanding location! Views from this restaurant are absolutely stunning. One has to have heard about it, otherwise you really cannot stumble upon it since it is a bit out of the town. A tuk-tuk can take you there. A visit to this restaurant is strongly recommended.

Ambiance
If you're a tourist in Lalibela then I highly recommend this spot. One with the best views of the whole city and beyond! Yes many tourists are here but with good reason! I recommend going to see the sunset as the views are just breathtaking all around you. When it gets dark there isn't too much light at the very top but it's manageable. The washrooms here are also very clean.

Food
I got the #vegetarian Sheppard's Pie with Shiro and though it was good it didn't blow my mind like other spots in Ethiopia. The prices are reasonable and even though food was decent, I still recommend going to this place.
