I'm very familiar with Kiasma and have loved it since childhood. I have even performed there as a part of the complaint choir many years ago. The building is very modern and built with staircases, elevators and my favourites, the unnoticeable rises. All levels are easy to access and the curators are very good, finding new and innovative uses for the spaces in the true spirit of modern art.

This place is suitable for those who love modern art. I must admit that one should go there only if they are open-minded. There are 5 floors with exhibitions and some will make you go wow but some you will probably want to skip if you are not prepared.
Anyway, I think everyone will find there something interesting. I went there 'for the company' and because the weather was awful. But I liked the place and discovered a lot of philosophical aspects in a majority of art pieces.
The museum itself is located in the centre and not far from the train station. It is easy to get there.

The museum is easy to navigate. Facilities are sufficient and well-maintained. There are lockers, sitting area, and large info section on the ground floor. Wheeled-chair friendly. Ample vibe. Great location next to central station and Oodin library. There’s also Kiasma cafe open until late.

Amazing museum! First floor - gift shop and cafeteria. 2-3-4-5 floors are exhibitions. 5th very often is closed.

I have a couple of questions for the curators of the museum. For example, why are no catalogues in the gift shop for the recent exhibition of Simon Fujiwara”It's a Small World”? Kiasma has given him the full 4th floor but no catalogues for sale?

The museum is a great morden space. It puts you straight into the mood to meet some morden outstanding works.
If you are visiting with children, be aware of some exhibitions can be too much for you child while there would not be any warnings.

Beautiful museum! With so many different concepts and exhibitions. Love that they bring a lot of artists and put them together. Love to see this kind of museum here in Finland! My girlfriend and I spend quite a good and fun time walking and seeing all the exhibitions rooms. Thank! 🙏🏽🙏🏽

I have been there twice and it is always a brilliant experience. First Friday of the month it is free and also on special occasions. They have tours in English and the exhibitions change quite frequently. Love it!

The modern art museum Kiasma underwent a renovation recently and is always worth a visit. The exhibitions are thoughtfully curated and the building itself is a sight. On ground floor you can find a book shop, restrooms and a nice café that serves lunches as well.

Kiasma is a wonderful building for contemporary art exhibitions. Currently you can see ARS22 exhibition with artists from more than 20 different countries. The pieces of the exhibition communicate with real life, with the world and the visitors.

For each piece of art you get exact instructions what you can do with it. You can sit in some of the installations, learn, feel, or communicate with artificial intelligence.

There is a library for and about architecture of indigenous people in a location made up like a shelter in the north. There you can find so many examples of indigenous invention out of found civilization rubbish. Fascinating.

The building itself has also a fascinating architecture. Currently there is some reconstruction work going on at the outside. Therefore you cannot see the complete facade from all sides. The interior design is also great.

The Tom of Finland exhibition at Kaisma contemporary art museum was truly eye-opening! Not only that, but the entrance of the museum itself is a work of art, adding to the overall captivating experience.

The place is worth visiting, a lot of different exhibitions are presented. As a Ukrainian refugee I can enter for free, but the regular ticket I personally consider overpriced. 16-18 € is too much

Great museum of contemporary art in the heart of Helsinki, currently (summer 2023) showing a major exhibition of works by Tom of Finland. Stunning, labyrinthine building. Free lockers on ground floor.

The museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma in Helsinki has a number of interactive exhibits, which allow visitors to get hands-on with the art.

This includes a large video game installation, a soundscape room, and a space where visitors can create their own art.

The Museum currently feature the TOM of FINLAND exhibition until 29 October 2023. Must visit the VR exhibition of TOM’s home if you happened to stop by; it feature an interactive VR of his house and his exhibition throughout.

This review is mainly focused on the Tom of Finland exhibition. It was a beautiful and well curated exhibition, which felt like it had a lot to look at, it with our being overwhelming.

The museum is gorgeous, and the exhibition really fit well into the surroundings.

I can highly recommend going while this exhibition is there, it is definitely worth the time!

Excellent modern art museum. The descriptions by exhibits are also in English. Cafe staff were very friendly and helpful, e.g in preparing a very tasty gluten and dairy free sandwich. Coffee was very good quality. Outstanding place.

Visited the Kiasma Contemporary Art Museum in August 2023. They currently have three exhibitions going on - one entirely made by queer people and celebrating queer art on 2nd floor, one about Tom of Finland on 3rd floor and one, highly conceptual, about the work of artist Daniel Steegmann Mangrané on 5th floor. Well worth a visit if you're into modern art, although the admission fee (20 EUR) is a bit overpriced for what you can see inside.

I love Kiasma! Well worth of visiting every and each exhibition for sure! The building itself is an experience. Beautiful and harmonious surroundings filled with though awakening interesting art, Kiasma never leaves you cold. Pop in on your lunch break or make it a half day trip with the family and friends. Under 18`s free entrance. I have no experience of the restaurant, but seems busy. In the Kiasma shop you always find something nice to bring home. Mainly visiting Kiasma with my 11 yr old daughter and she loves the place too! Strong recommendation <3
