RAD - Radikal Akustik Design

I knew this man from early years when I bought DIY speakers from him (still have those exellent speakers). No that I heard him to fix and give new life to audio stuff, I decided to take my Denon PMA1080r for service. He kept me posted all the time what is needed to change and we agreed all work that was to be done. Actually everything that needed and for future proof needs was changed. Not with similar, but much better quality parts. He even cleaned up remote control from inside. It was a good amp already before, but now it turned to stunning. Just saved money of buying Accuphase. And what comes to price, he is not as cheap as some audio device service store, but he does everything to make your device as new and even better. My money here was very, very well spent.

I've had RAD fix and enhance a number of amplifiers, subwoofers, and preamps. "Whatta H guy, where did that separation come from," I wrote to him. After the equipment visited the RAD sound improvement laboratory, it seemed as though a curtain would have been raised. Prior to this public review, I gave my system a thorough listening to eliminate any potential placebo effects, but the music still sounds great. Excellent work and considerate service from RAD are highly recommended whether you need to fix your equipment or want to improve the sound quality.

Excellent service with good communication. I was kept well informed of all the fixes and needed improvements. I'm glad I gave my vintage setup (HK Citation pre and power amp) to these capable hands for a complete overhaul. I don't think they have sounded this good and worked this well even when new.

The amps have been working without trouble for many months now and I'm pretty sure they will run without problems for a long time.

I bought a second hand Av-receiver, in Yamaha´s quality Aventage series.
It works well and sounds very good. Seller was nice and friendly, and a serius audiophile man.

AMAZING SERVICE AND COMMUNICATION!!! I originally approached RAD to switch all of my components (Aragon 24K preamp, Aragon 4T2 tuner, and McCormack DNA-125 amplifier) from 110v to 230v so I wouldn't need a step-down converter in Finland. In doing this, Johan of RAD noted that some of the capacitors were about to burst, so he informed and worked with me, step-by-step, replacing and upgrading all of the old capacitors, and upgrading other parts like operational amps and even RCA jacks, which improved the sound signature. He also completely rebuilt my Aragon IPS power supply, upgrading it to one step beyond what was Aragon's flagship power supply, the Ingot mk2 IPS. Separately, he modded the hell out of my Oppo BDP-83 multi-format disk player, which I use solely for Redbook CDs, HDCDs and SACDs (sorry, Tidal and Primephonic high definition just doesn't hold a candle to hard-copy source material). The whole system sounds a gazillion times better, with far more spectral detail, soundstage, velvety mids, and more tightly-defined depth than was there before. Last, he built custom-made RCA interconnects and a power cable, ensuring the noise floor dropped even more. I now essentially have a brand new system. The metal boxes are the same, but everything "under the hood" is completely new. The icing on the cake is that RAD's prices are beyond reasonable. Why anyone would want to purchase new equipment rather than have RAD service and upgrade their old components is beyond me. Three thumbs up!!!

Keväällä selvisi, että akkukäyttöisen päätevahvistimen akkujen uusiminen ei onnistu. Johanin kanssa homma ratkesi kuitenkin parhain päin. Noin 100 Whatsapp -viestiä, mittauksia ja valokuvia, ja vaihtoehdot oli kartoitettu ja ratkaisu suunniteltu etänä. Lopputuloksena käsin tehdyt virtalähteet, jotka sopivat täydellisesti laitehyllyyn. Ja mikä tärkeintä, äänenlaatu parani entisestään. Johan hoiti homman aikaa ja vaivaa säästämättä vaikka flunssakin yritti jarrutella. Kiitokset.

Rautainen ammattilainen! Tiedustelin ensin silloisten kaiuttimieni jakosuotimen päivitysmahdollisuutta. RAD:lta tuli selkeä ja yksityiskohtainen ehdotelma mitä voisimme saavuttaa ja mitkä kaiuttimen rajoitukset olivat. Päädyimme lopulta kuitenkin SB Acousticin DIY Rinjani -kauttimeen jonka kaiutinelementtivalinnoissa RAD osasi neuvoa loistavasti. Lisäksi RAD vielä muokkasi kyseisen kitin mukana tulevaa jakosuodinta parhaan lopputuloksen saavuttamiseksi. Sain kaiuttimet valmiina pakettina. En voisi olla tyytyväisempi soundiin!
