A wonderful village pub and B&B in a charming village. I stayed here last month whilst in the area for work, only wish I could have stayed longer!
I was greeted by Pat, who was friendly and welcoming. The room was spacious, clean, and well equipped. The beer was great and well-kept, and as for the food, it was absolutely delicious!! Beautifully tasty home-cooked food, obviously cooked with love. 10 out of 10

We have just spent 3 nights here. The room was very clean and comfortable and lovely and warm. We ate in the pub on 3 nights, meals were all very nice, my husband had the steak 2 nights as it was so nice and cooked just as he likes it. Very nice atmosphere as there are quite a few locals in the pub. Breakfast was very nice and again cooked well.
Beautiful location with a short walk to waterfalls.

Fantastic place to stay and eat. The room was comfortable with a lovely fresh scent.
The breakfast appeared with perfect timing.
The evening meal (boozy beef) was lovely.
The host (Pat) brought a smile to our faces.
Thank you for a memorable stay!

First night stay before hiking the Herriot way with 3 friends. A lovely cosy village pub. Met by Pat who gave us room keys and told us to knock anytime if there was anything we needed. Room was spotlessy clean and smelt fresh. Lovely thick white towels and a lemony scented shower gel which was a bonus as I only packed a very small bar of soap (traveling light for a 4 day hike).
We ate tea in pub I had fish and chips very nice.
A very comfortable night's sleep.
Breakfast was also good plenty of choice. Cereal, fruit juice and cooked breakfast. Couldn't fault this place.

Dropped in here as got caught in a heavy shower visiting nearby falls. Very friendly owner with good selection of beers. Just had a sandwich but the specials board for evening meals looked very inviting. Proper local pub

Spotlessly clean room, friendly and welcoming staff, cozy pub, perfect location, lovely home cooked food - nice pint or two of snowflake, can't fault.

A great little village pub we popped in for drinks whilst visiting the waterfall.
Reasonably priced.
The lunch menu, special menu and dessert menu all very reasonably priced.
We didn't eat but all the food that others had looked lovely and we are hoping to pop back and have food if we get time!

Lovely stay for our first trip away with our new puppy. Friendly staff, comfortable and very clean dog friendly room. Nice place to sit with drinks outside the pub overlooking the village green. Evening meal was great, and good value. Lovely breakfast too.
Beautiful village with nice walk to the waterfall just a few minutes away. Many thanks.

Lovely place to stay, very friendly and chatty staff and locals and a lovely area just outside the pub to sit and enjoy your drink outdoors. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable and toiletries and towels are included.we were actually booked in for 1 night but we liked it so much we enquired about staying another night and there was no problem. We had dinner in the pub both nights and the food was delicious. So our experience is WELL worth a visit.

Went here for a pub dinner and it did not disappoint. Food came out quite quickly, wonderfully hot and tasty. They even offered dessert but there was no room left after such a glorious meal. Would definitely go again if we're in the area.

The best night's accommodation we found during our 6 week stay in UK. So friendly, welcoming, with fantastic food, comfy, clean beds and bathroom and a fantastic, host. A truly authentic pub stay. Wow! Made our holiday the best.

Stopped for Saturday lunch and pleasently surprised. Very good value for money. A vegan burger, chips and onion rings for less than £10!
Friendly staff in a typical village pub! Loved that they had a vegetarian section to their menu! 👍

We booked a one night stay in the Fox and Hounds (a place we had not visited in 25 years)
Nothing had changed to be honest, picturesque village, lovely walks and a nice small pub.
The room was nice although basic
We were happy with the price charged, the breakfast was as expected and the surroundings comfortable.
The people in the pub on the night were fairly friendly.
We will 100% return again soon for another few night's away.
The only two points I would change would be to offer a slightly earlier breakfast so you can eat and be off for the day earlier and I think a larger TV is a must in the room.
All in all a very nice stay.
Thank you to the host and we hope to see you again soon

Had a nice meal there after the local pub where we was staying was fully booked and no effort made to accommodate. The fox and hound is set in a lovely location. Food was filling and reasonably priced. We was given a tab too. Good friendly service. Would visit again when in the area as the other pub has lost our future business

Called for a table around 6pm, sat down to eat at 6.30pm yesterday. Staff were all friendly and nothing was a problem, typical pub grub which all came out quickly, clean plates so can't ask for anymore. Good selection of beers too, we will be back when we are in the area again

Popped in for a pint after a walk to Aysgarth. Splendid pub in a beautiful village. Very helpful gentleman behind the bar pointed us in the direction of the "Cauldron Falls" just down the road: not as well-known as the ones at Aysgarth but a very beautiful spot. We sat outside and could hear the curlews in the surrounding hills.

Love this little pub. Great atmosphere, good ales and food. No problem with muddy boots or dogs, everyone is welcome. Really convenient setting for a large number of walks and a handy bus stop right outside the door! Be sure to visit the Cauldron Falls situated to the right just as you leave the village. Highly recommended and I'll keep going back.

The picture of taken from the outside seating area of the pub. They have several tables outside to bask in the lovely summer weather and a decent quantity inside.
All good socal distancing observed with a great range of drinks and food.
Be aware of their lunch menu serving times, 10am-2pm
