Very pretty, quiet town worth a stop in to for the views of the waterfalls and hills. There are a lot of them on either side of the town. There is some cafes and restaurants in the middle of the town with outdoor seating that is nice to relax in during good weather. It only takes about 10 minutes to walk from one side of the town all the way to the other so this is a short stop, good for when your are driving a long way or on the way to that national park. Waterfall, river, and town as a whole is kept completely clean which is great to see. These are publicly accessible so no need to buy tickets or anything like that to see the waterfalls. There is a lot of parking available at the bottom part of the town (down the hill by the wooden bridge) - I would recommend parking here and walking up the hill through the town as the other side is harder to find parking, and the middle of the town can be too full on busy days to find a space.

What a gem, beautiful, quaint, small, authentic, impressive,... definitely worth a visit. You can walk through the village and pay 3 euros pp to walk on the backside of the village and see more waterfalls.

If I were to visit Plitvice, this would be the 1st spot I'd go after visiting. You gotta pay for parking but the view and feeling of the water sprinkling on your face is absolutely free!

A wonderful place to enjoy nature and architecture from 100 or more years ago, as it used to be in the countryside. The whole complex is a unique park where people still live. There is also a rich program and variety of restaurants that offer authentic cuisine from these areas... I recommend!!!

Great pizza and lasagna, very recommended!
Notice that the jumbo pizza is really huge (for a couple we took the regular).
Attached are pic of the pizza sizes :)

Amazing place such a good area for dinning but all restaurants were closed maybe because of low season 😕

The little water wheel village/Slovinj homestead at Rastoke is just gorgeous. A waterfall and fairy wonderland with some amazing local history along the way. 6 Euros each for a really lovely experience that could easily take a couple of hours if you have something to eat while you're there. It'd be a great place to take kids.

Relaxing green scenery with calming sounds of water flowing nearby. Great place to escape city rush and enjoy nature. Multiple waterfalls, museum, long and short walking trails or just sitting and relaxing makes it a must stop on the road. After or begore you can sit in one of the bistro/bars for some coffe and food. Recently there is a place Diva selling cakes making it even more sweeter to stay there. It is also possible to rent rooms and enjoy walking up there. Parking is less so park on the other side of the road.

One of the most amazing series of waterfalls near the road. We've been here many times and recently a very nice trail built, stop for a moment, take a walk, eat a sandwich. A stunning view in all season. You can park if there is space near the road.

Really beautiful. Not in the Lonely Planet guidebook. But well worth giving a half day. If you are going to Plitvice Lakes, well worth staying the night before or night of. Also worth paying an extra €6 into the folk park part. Some beautiful views from this part.

Bird's eye view of the village Restore, Croatia!
If you are nearby Plitvice lake, visit here. The view, the river, the waterfalls, every moment you will enjoy here!

Looks like a snow globe without the snow!! This was such a surprise on the trip to Plitvice NP. Amazing how the water just flows through and around the town. The path around the town is only about 25 min walk, and you don't want to miss it!!

The Rastoke village is truly beautiful. Far better option than Plitvica Lakes so instead of 40€ here you can pay much less. If you want to go through the village, it's for free. They also built a path from the road above whoch costs 3€. Then if you want to go inside to see the "museum" and fairy garden with private mini waterfalls and a cave, it costs 6€. There are also nice things for kids, like drawing corner and swings. Definitely worth it.

Absolutely gorgeous views all around, what an amazing hidden gem.
Enjoyed a short stop over and loved the waterfalls, perfectly preserved houses, and small restaurants.
So full of charm.

I went to that place just to look at nature and to walk around. That is a very peaceful place, even if you don't like walking a lot or hiking you should definitely go there. There was a small shop where you can buy drinks (I got coffee) and buy some organic "handmade" cosmetics ( face, hands creams).
It's better to come there in the morning or afternoon because after 5-+ pm, you can't see anything:)
You have to pay for parking there and there are a lot of parking places available.

Beautiful old village with stone and wooden buildings, wirh streams and waterfalls absolutely everywhere. There are plenty of bars and restaurants, mainly fish, steaks, pizza, and salads. Reasonable amount of parking around the edges -€2 per hour
