We visited the castle with our 11 and 9 year old kids, they absolutely loved it, and so did us. We paid about 38 EUR for 2 adults and 2 kids, but the tickets included visits for the Andrássy castle too. I say it's a fair price. The castle is completely restaured, there is even a real blacksmith shop on site, where you can buy for about 3 EUR a lucky horseshoe with your name on it.

Very nice experience at Gyula, worth to visit. The castle is very well maintaned, old objects available for sightseeing. Very nice panorama, 360 degree on Gyula. A hologram explains an event in the citadel history. Nearby there is a nice park and also the Gyula baths.

Very interesting place to see. At least on sunday afternoon there was not much people and you might roam around by yourself, had plenty of time and space to see exhibitions and admire surroundings.

Great Gotic castle from the 15th century. Worth to visit. Ticket is about 5€+ for the museum. You can enter a door anywhere in the castle discovering what is inside the room, where is possible, you can open, by a door handle, old type one. Circular narrow staircase is thecway to reach the top of the castle. If the weather is great, you have a nice wiev point to wide picture od Gyula city.

We have discovered the Gyula castle driven by a spontanious idea. It was a Great experience learning a lot about Gyula and its history which is very rich! A lot of significant event happened here throughout the centuries. The exhibition here is interactive and impressive. We purchased a combined ticket (Gyula castle and Almásy castle were both included in the price).

Handful of history, plain and up close. Very well maintained, one can get a thorough impression, how was life in the turkish occupation era. Weapons, various rooms, from knight's hall through kitchen to torture chamber. If you are in the vicinity, and interested in medieval history, this one is a must have.

Make sure you get a tour guide, because they don't really have any explanations. That's the only thing that's missing. The view at the top of the castle is beautiful, but I wouldn't take young kids there, lest they shall fall down...

Nice little castle. There's not much to explore around it. There's a nice park with the view. On weekend you have people dressed there in Hungarian folk suits entertaining people. All in all for a afternoon walk in a park this castle is a nice choice.

One of only 2 castles made of bricks to still exist in the world. Remarkable structure and a fascinating museum, it is well worth it.
