We arrived very early at 6.30am after leaving Ubud at 4.30am. By arriving early we hardly queued to have our photos taken. We were lucky to have amazing weather. The views were incredible from the top which adds to the time here. The temple was smaller than I had imagined but still the view makes it worth it.
Yes it was touristy but isn’t most places everyone visits in Bali? If you go there wanting to see the amazing view and to see a temple so high up, then defo worth it.
It was very well organised, the shuttle bus left promptly to take us to the top. We paid for the ticket and was given a sarong to wear. Had to walk up the steep road to the temple. Everyone was so friendly. The photographers take your phone in the temple to take the your photos at the gate when your number is called (number given on the ticket). Our photos were incredible.
I would recommend visiting here….if you don’t like queuing go early as we did.

Great temple of Hindu with background of Agung Mountain , is best to come I. The morning or catch sunset panoramic background , we park our car in the big parking area and use their shuttle bus to go to the temple located on the top / hill , nice scenery surrounded , long queue to take picture at gate of heaven. Entry ticket 30K / person , be patient to take a picture in the gate of heaven

Fantastic temple! Tree open layers for visitors. The best time to visit before noon. After noon Foto’s for long memory with you will be dark, your faces not recognisable. Be careful if you’re driving based on GPS, you will lead to the wrong direction, direction only for prayers, very hard road to the hill. On a top, when 500 m left we where stopped and local guy help us to find the right path after donation equal to 100000 :).

Beautiful temple set in the mountains with a view of Mt Agung. Prepare for a long wait (min. 90 min.) to get a picture at the Gates of Heaven even off-season. Come very early in the morning or late in the afternoon while afternoon shots may be a little bit more magical.

Great view! Excellent during covid, since almost no queue at all. Not sure I would like to wait 2-3 hours for the pics in normal days. Worth for visit though! If you want, you can walk 20-25mins to the second temple. It was foggy in the morning when we came, looks so mystical!

Great place to take photos.
But during peak time, be ready to wait for long time to get your chance for taking your pic with the Gates of Heaven.

Beautiful view. Sacred place. Need 2-3 hours from south kuta to been there. No entry fee but they need donation u can give how much you want to. There have a photographer to help you take a beautiful photo. Just give a tips to them. And need to queuing. Thanks

Great place to visit and wasn’t that easy to get there. I rode my scooter (2,5 hours from Denpasar), and went up high to the mountain. It’s really amazing I made it.

If you want to visit this place, you need to stay over somewhere closer or at least spend a night in this area. Because you will be super tired like me.

But I had really good experience there.

Its a great place to take a photo. Especialy when its sunny, so you can see the Mt.Agung. awesome. It took arround 2 hours drive from Denpasar.

Top Instagram spot in Bali. Must visit. Visit early to avoid long waiting period.

The main photo spot is 5 minutes from the bottom. Long line later in the day. If you want to reach the top, then you climb some damaged and rotting stairs to the top. Monkeys will follow you for food.

Oldest temple in Bali. You can see the mighty Mt. Agung from another angle. Beautiful!
