A nice railway station. All types of facilities are available. Lot passengers are accessing the same daily for travelling. Neatly maintained. Staffs are friendly and helpful. Reservation tatkal and normal tickets are available in the same counter. Time table and rate chart to various towns are displayed. Parking area is available.

Kadakavur is a great place. It importance comes due to Kadakkavoor railway station. Before the time of Indian independence most of the recruits of INA(Indian National Army) in Chirayinkeezu taluk departed from Kadakkavoor railway station. In memory of that Ex INA officers building is near by it. Now near Sub treasury Kadakkavoor.

K C S Mani, who tried to assault Sir C P Ramaswamy, after the attempt reached Kadakkavoor and resided for sometime.

During Mahatma Gandhi's Kerala visits, he used to deliver speeches as usual in other railway station.

Good parking available without shed. Smal Bridge is also available for walking to 2nd platform. Free WiFi is also there 😅

This railway station is central to Kollam and Trivandrum ,the station was very important when it was running on a coal train, that time all the trains had a stop here , the reason is that to fill the water from my family house around 100m distance only...

One of the famous railway station of Southern Railway.It is next to Varkala Station when coming from Kollam side.It is next to Chirayinkezhu railway station when coming from Thiruvananthapuram side.Here is a big tower for railway for receiving signals.
