Bonus are good. Always a range of fresh local product. I never found "sell by date" discount bins which do save you a medium sized mortgage. Kronan did offer these discount bins at least as far as I saw.

I visited Bonus at Akranes some 5 years ago when I was on a solo roadtrip in Iceland. I picked up some stuff and was at the counter to pay but none of my cards were working due to some technical issue. I only had a 100 Euro bill which I didn’t want to exchange for icelandic kroners given that it was my last day in Iceland. So next I explained my situation to the lady on the counter and told her that I wouldn’t be able to purchase these items. While all this was going on, a guy from the store came and swiped his card and paid for my stuff. Just like that! When I looked at him, he just smiled and said you can take this stuff. I said I couldn’t, since I hadn’t paid for it, but he said its yours now.
I was quite surprised at the gesture, pleasantly so! I still remember this incident and the Icelandic people’s hospitality is something that made the place extra special for me…

Hier findet man alles von Äpfel bis Vollkornbrot sowie Proteinmüsli. 👍 Achtung das Typische Brot wie wir Deutschen es kennen ist viel zu teuer. Deswegen lieber Toastbrot nehmen 😊👍

El supermercado del cerdo "fumao" como allí le dicen, es un supermercado muy económico dentro del precio que allí hay, muy recomendable
