Relaxing in the geothermal pools out in the open (and cold at this time of year!!) was a real treat, especially with the scenic view that's right in front of the "main" pool.

A quick dip in the cold water 6c°-8c°) tub and right back into the hottest (41c°-42c° IIRC) was invigorating, and I highly recommend that you try it.

We followed this with a lovely dinner in the restaurant they have on the premise - well presented and delicious dishes, accompanied by fine wine and local beer 🍻

Overall, a great way to spend a good few hours when you get to this (stunning!) part of the world 😎

After the closure of the Blue Lagoon due to the volcanic eruption we had to find somewhere else to experience geothermal bathing. We picked Krauma and so glad we did. It was clean and well organised with different temperature pools a steam room and relaxation area. The dressing rooms were immaculate and the showers perfect. Lockers provided free of charge and towels are available for hire. I highly recommend this place. Lazing in 40 degree water when it’s -6 outside is unbelievable.

Not too big but enough because it’s quiet, and the cold tub is nice to chilling little bit and then back to the warm 😁, the shower is nice, at the woman room we have hairdryers, cotton buds and stuff.there’s soap, shampoo and conditioner ready in the shower. Locker inside and we take the key with us. (Take off your jewelry in the locker because it can be dark from the mineral of the hot water). Towel pay separately, so we bring our own towel.
Our daughter *2yold really like it, we don’t know that kid can be so happy maybe finally she can be in warm and swimming for her. So if you are camping with kid, this place is the place to go to relax

We visited Krauma today (first week of December) it was absolutely wonderful experience for our group of five. We enjoyed each geothermal pool that had posted temperature ranges. We loved the steam room too. Changing rooms were clean and even had storage lockers. Free of charge.
We had lunch there and it was absolutely delicious. We each got dinner entrees. Lamb filet was amazing, burger was delicious, the cod was just spot out.
Can't recommend this place enough!

Shout out to the fabulous host, Carolina. Carolina welcomed us so warmly to Krauma.

The geothermal spas, infrared sauna and cold plunge were deluxe. The facilites are stunning and so clean. I loved being able to look up at the stars from the spas.

When the Aurora borealis began, she ran outside with us and enjoyed the magic too.. we loved her enthusiasm and sharing the moment with us.

After the magic ended, we enjoyed a meal at the restaurant which was super fast service and tasty.

As I was leaving I asked Carolina about my jewellery which had become discoloured from the spa. She asked me for all of my jewellery and began cleaning every single piece until it was brand new again! What a beautiful human and I am so grateful for her excellent customer service.

Enjoyed the pools at Krauma. They have different pools with different temperatures so you can start out on the cooler and move into the hotter and vice versa. They also have a really nice relaxing room with a fire pit in it. It wasn’t crowded. The only thing is bring your own towel or there is a fee.

Extremely relaxing, the view was spectacular. I loved the different bath temperatures! I find it difficult to stay in a really hot temperature so it was nice to cool down in the cooler temperatures. The saunas and the cold plunge bath are all available whenever as well as a relaxation room. It was a wonderful experience, definitely recommend to anyone wanting a relaxing time after some adventure in the cold. They can supply towels and bathrobe, it wasn’t expensive. Wonderful staff, and water is left outside if you’re thirsty. There is a restaurant as well.

It's a nice experience in this geothermal spa. Me and my family truly enjoy it, I specially really loved the indoor lounge were you relax on a long chair and it's heated with fire wood. I totally recommend you to go there!

Very nice facilities. I went at night so I can't speak to the views but the pools were lovely and each a different temperature. I found opening the doors to the sauna etc difficult, my hand would freeze to the steel, which was not pleasant, but overall very nice and would recommend.

This was one of the best places in all of Iceland. It is very quite and no as crowded as other spas. It has steam room, infrared room, quite room, and different temp geothermal baths. And the top of it the view is breath taking. Right beside there is a food truck 😊

On everyone's list when they visit is the Blue lagoon but, in my opinion, this hidden gem is much much nicer. Not only is it cheaper but it also has a more exclusive feel about it which delivers a more relaxing wellness experience. The black building nestle really well into the Icelandic landscape and look very modern. Upon entering, the staff are very polite and welcoming. The changing rooms and showers are very clean and well equipped with lockers and nice showers. Then you leave the showers and enter the pool area, with 3 pools at 37-39 degrees and 2 at 39-41 degrees, also all in black, circular and sunken into the ground facing the rigid landscape and steam coming from Europe's most powerful hot spring. There are also 2 very nice steam rooms and a relaxing room where you can chill out in front of the log fire laying on the very comfortable recliners. We had a great day there. We paid 100€ for 2 with towels and bath robes and a beer delivered to the pool. One more tip, next to the car park, there are many green houses which sells its produce. We bought some cherry tomatoes which were amazing. Do not miss this place when you visit Iceland!

Forget Blue Lagoon - Krauma is so much better! Smaller, friendlier, better views and the water isn't full of white hair-destroying silica!

Last second stop and so glad we did. We decided we were going to drive up to Krauma from Thingvillir Park as we were staying at Fossatun. Checked availability online, but there were spots open every hour on the website so we risked not buying tickets till we showed up. Got here at 4pm on a Monday, no wait to get in, $45usd to enter is very fair compared to other lagoons. When you’re checking in you can pre-buy your drinks of choice and they will bring them out to you once you’re in the pool area. As soon as you enter the changing rooms there is a place to remove your shoes. Nice lockers with wristlet keys so you can secure items before showering (soap, shampoo, conditioner provided) then out to the 6 different pools. So fun moving between each pool as they are each a different temperature with one pool at 6 degrees Celsius. There is a WC right in the pool area which was very convenient. Enjoyed the steam room and IR sauna. Spent just under 2 hours here, full relaxed, and started slowly making our way out after a big tour bus pulled in for 5:30 which was a little chaotic in the dressing rooms. Did not eat at the restaurant, but ate at the food truck out front and it was awesome. Separate review for that though :) overall highly recommend if you’re in this area. A lot less people than anywhere else unless there is a tour bus in the parking lot. Very peaceful with the mountains in view.

Here you can soak in hot baths with a glass of cold wine or beer. Enjoy the silence and the crackle of burning wood in the fireplace in the relaxation room. Warm up in the steam bath or infrared sauna and then take a dip in the ice pool to cool off. And of course, at the end, go to the restaurant and try delicacies from chefs who know their job. Great place to relax. I recommend

Beautiful, quaint and relaxing. Multiple pools with vary degree of temperatures. I loved that they had a cold plunge pool, along with a sauna and steam room. They also had a small room that was a quiet zone but we didn’t need to go in there because it was not crowded at all. The most busy for us was about six couples, which still left us all to our own pool if we had wanted. Beautiful, just beautiful.

Astonishing!! One of my favorites places on earth!

A bit expensive but I totally recommend it, the view is magnificent, the pools are amazing and the staff is super friendly.

I stayed for about 4 hours and absolutely loved it!

Come here with enough time to relax, once you come in, you will not want to leave.

Quiet, clean and comfortable. Several pools to choose from with varying degrees of heat. The showers are clean and neat. There is also the 6° - 8° Polar Plunge and an Infrared room, Sauna and Relaxation room with fireplace. Cups and pitchers of water are just outside the building and there is a bar inside. This is just what we wanted. The icing on the cake is the food truck next door with delicious tomato soup from the greenhouses on site. Just wonderful!

The hot tubs at krauma offer a great possibility to relax in a location where it’s difficult to find many activities to do. The spa has pools with water at different temperatures, from 7 degrees to 42. In reality what I liked the most from the spa, was the relax room which was heated by a firewood. In addition to the spa there is a great restaurant which offers an excellent quality of food. The staff is very friendly and kind, the atmosphere is great and you can really enjoy your time spent in it.

This is a review for the restaurant. I have been lucky enough to eat at the restaurant in the winter of 2001 and again last night. As it is a small venue they keep the menu small but do them well. I had the lamb both times and they where superb. Been living in Iceland for 3 years and their lamb is in my top 5. I can also recommend their huge portion of chips which come topped with bacon, onion, cheese and mayo. Combine this with an afternoon in the spa and you have an amazing day.
