We loved spending our first night in Iceland at this adorable place!! The bed exceeded our expectations and the check in was easy! We love the geothermal shower water and it’s a great spot to view the northern lights. Also very peaceful and convenient

Such a nice stay. I stayed my full nine days here and just drove everywhere. I meet a lot of people on there trip as well and they said they haven’t seen the northern lights for there week or two week long trip but I was able to see them four night right at the hotel here! I did a lot of soaking pools and and soaking areas on my trip but I still used the hot tubes and the sauna on the rooftop of the property every night!! Was so relaxing and nice, that fax that it was on the rooftop made it all the better too! You could nearly see a lot of the west side cities on the island. During the day you could see the surrounding snow capped mountains as well! Just amazing. Not to mention you’re surrounded by the coast on a peninsula here 🙂. Room was nice too though I got the cheaper option room. It was in clear weather it had a fridge when booking but it did have a small one. Coffee too. Not sure if all the rooms don’t but it would of been nice to have a microwave or something to cook with though. But just amazing. Just make sure you have a car cause it is far from most things, though the capital is only about 15 mins. There is a bus stop about ten mins walking too.

I stayed here as part of a school trip group and wow what an amazing place. The location (although very isolated) is beautiful, excellent views across the bay and out to sea. We were fortunate to see some volcanic activity and the owner said this was a common occurrence. The rooms were good, my room was an older style room but still okay. The newer style rooms were excellent. The food was brilliant morning and night, the lunch packs that we made were okay. The service was brilliant. I highly recommend the fisherman village to school trip groups but also to anyone looking for a base to explore Iceland.

Nice location. The room we are stayed is a little dated but we knew what we get before we booked it. Hopefully we see the Northern lights as it's very dark here and just the ocean next to us.

Fun and interesting place to stay. Roads nearby are SLICK with black ice every night - be careful driving, and equally careful walking through the parking lot!

Beautiful view of the ocean all around! Peace and quiet, an additional plus for access to 2 hot tubes and a sauna :) Highly recommend!

I am so happy I chose to stay here for my trip to Iceland! Was a wonderful place to come back to after a day of adventuring. The views were gorgeous, loved how close it was so the beach. It was perfectly located for us, close to the city but far enough to feel rural. Even saw the northern lights here!! Only like 15/20 minutes into the city, so it was perfect. They came and generally tidied up every day, took out the trash, gave new towels, etc. We even had some bags dropped off at our room from the airport and the workers kindly put them into our room for us while we were out without us asking. Would live here if I could. Highly highly recommend.

This was our first night in Iceland, and getting here was quite an event in 70 mph winds, and once we made it to the room we settled in and hoped that we didn't blow away. It was an experience, and sort of set the tone for our Icelandic journey, we weren't sure if that's how the weather was all of the time or not, and being on the sea at this hotel was very nice. At the hotel it seems like you are off the beaten path, but you're really only a mile or so from town. So there are things to do there like find food and anything you might need. I recommend these loft style rooms for the novelty and the feeling that you're somewhere new.

Second visit to this unique place. Absolutely love it there. Near to city but feels so far. Private rooms with shared hot tubs and sauna up on the roof. Absolutely stunning. Brilliant place to View the Aurora. My only gripe is the smashing waves when the winds crazy but of course thats down to weather. Would recommend to anyone 🙂

The best place to stay near Reykjavik, super smooth check in at Viking hotel, clean and cozy room and a view over the Atlantic and the vulcane eruption!!! I would stay here again if I visit Iceland again. 10/10 recommend

Calm detached place but still close to the capital. It’s the perfect location if you are trying to see the Northern Lights. No need to hunt for them, just go out of the room. Very clean room with an amazing view. Very polite owner.

Superb service and very sweet staff :) We enjoyed our stay very much and were pleasantly surprised by the level of service and cleanliness of the room. The room matches the photos online, if not better :) We even managed to catch the Northern Lights here on the premise. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!

This was a wonderful little hotel to stay at! The location was simply gorgeous and well worth the trip out there for our last few nights in Iceland. My wife and I stayed here as our last stop here in Iceland and loved it. We had the quietness and privacy we wanted and and easy commute into the city and then to the airport. I would highly recommend the Fisherman Village for a place to stay while in Iceland, as well as their other location "Hotel Viking" which isn't too far away. The prices are reasonable and the locations are very authentic for a true Iceland experience.

Beautiful little oceanside area away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Our room had a loft area with skylights and the layout was cute and efficient. Sauna and hot tub were located on top of another building (the rules: wash/scrub thoroughly first before getting into hot tubs - they are for soaking and are not chlorinated / we chose to shower in our room but there is a shower up top near the first hot tub).

Accommodation was fantastic, good parking, hot tub, sauna was ok.
It was very peaceful being here and we could see the northern lights from the accommodation, it was faint to the eye but clear as day on mobile (with dark mode).
would recommend anyone to stay here!

A beautiful place to stay, lovely and warm, clean and spacious. The most comfortable bed ever! Slight miss-hap with check in, we were told a room number via email which was already occupied when we arrived. A quick phone call and they sorted us out, even came down to check we were in our room ok. Couldn’t fault the service! Thank you 😁👍

I was here on a company event and we really had a great time. The village is close enough to Reykjavik but not too close so it nice and quite. We managed to see the Aurora on our first night with the naked eye. Dinners had to be pre-arranged for the group but all meals were delicious. Plenty of parking space if you bringing a car

Great place to spend an evening before a flight back home, as it's slightly closer to the airport than downtown Reykjavik.

Completely isolated, with beautiful views all around. Room was clean and lovely and had comfy beds and good blackout curtains (very important!). Kids loved the hot tub - sauna was charming but not really hot enough.

Make sure you stop by and take a pic at Bessastaðir (the president's home) while you're out there.

What a gem!
If you want an authentic, off the beaten path experience, where you can have anonymity and privacy, this is it. Super accommodating and charming.
Owner helped us with our misunderstanding of our locks at midnight, cleaning crew was attentive and lovely, and the rest of the time we used it as home base. Sauna and hot tub were fabulous. Location remote but accessible enough and view of harbor and 🇮🇸 horses. Perfect.
