Great place to camp at! Facilities are very well maintained which was such a blessing. If you camp out in your car (not camper van) you'll definitely have to layer up in some comfy PJs and have some blankets. It rained not too heavily when we stayed. We were the only ones there for 12 hrs so it was amazing having all of that nature all to ourselves. Such an amazing place!

Very nice campsite in the middle of the forest. The right road to the site is not immediately obvious, but it is worth following the gravel road.
There are individual pitches on small meadows between the trees. All very quiet and idyllic.
There are several toilets and sinks in about the middle. There is hot water for dishwashing, otherwise only cold. There are no showers. The washrooms are very clean.
Open fires are not allowed. Electricity is generally not available.
A footpath leads from the campsite to the nearest village.

Beautiful campsite in the woods with breathtaking scenery and tables, restrooms and sinks to wash the dishes.
The surrounding trees offer a perfect wind/sound barrier and some privacy to the next camper. Overall one of the best campsites especially if you are camping with a tent or roof tent.

This campsite is located in a perfect setting right in the heart of a forest, with secluded areas for those that prefer privacy and a bit more open for those who just want to rest near the sanitary area. There’s the bonus of some picnic tables spreader around if you arrive early enough to pitch your tent nearby. It is very sheltered from the wind which can be important as the region can get VERY windy (we got here after being “kicked out” of Hvammstangi campground by the unrelenting wind). There are two toilets available and 4 sinks, 2 of them sheltered, no electricity available (light in the toilets comes from a solar panel and battery system), but theres is (kinda) hot water to wash the dishes and for hygiene. There are no showers (you can use the nearby pool showers and the pool itself for 500isk/person). The owners come by the place every morning and evening to collect the fee (cards accepted, 1300 isk/person), if not there’s an honesty box where you can deposit your payment. We LOVED this campsite for being in such a beautiful, pristine and secluded setting, but the lack of showers, electricity and a covered kitchen/dining area might not OK for everybody. A tad on the expensive side if you focus on this, but for us I can tell you that I would go back there to stay for a couple days and do some amazing hikes and visit interesting stuff (beer and horses museum) in the area. Five stars for the cleanliness, honesty and gorgeous scenery.

Absolutely incredible service by Halldór and Hildur who run all the campsites in Skagafjörður. In an recent emergency they did far more than could be expected of any person who offers service. Wonderful place with great service!

Great campground!!! This was my favorite campground of the 7 places we stayed. We camped in an empty field among trees. There was clean water & bathroom close by. No kitchen area, but wonderful environment.

This is a wonderful campground and the spots are more private. No one is there to enforce any noise though so we had a neighbor that wanted to party until well after 2am.
