This place is everything you need. Such a beautiful location on the coast and a great place to see the northern lights. The woman who owns these properties was extremely friendly and accomadating. I wish we could of stayed here more nights then we did. Due to its closeness to the airport I highly recommend you make this a stop at the beginning or end of your trip and I promise you will not regret it.

We visited iceland for our honeymoon and wanted a location that was private and cozy while also being relatively close to things. Our cabin was wonderful and we were so close to the coast that I could see the waves in the morning. Reykjavík is only a 45 minute drive away and there are plenty of other smaller towns with exciting things to do in them. The property owner was very accommodating and nice. The kitchen has a small fridge, stovetop, microwave, and small toaster oven along with spices, oils, coffee, tea, etc. The hot tub was our favorite part, it is fed from a natural source and you fill it with fresh water each time you want to use it. There is little to no light pollution so we were able to see the auroras on three of our nights there. Definitely would recommend Ocean Break Cabins to anyone looking to relax during their iceland vacation!

Being warm and cosy while there's a blizzard outside, feels great! The host is kind and helpful and responsive. If you're after a peaceful and calm stay, away from city lights, you won't be disappointed. We've enjoyed our stay here, and if we ever decide to visit Iceland again, we'd definitely check availability here first. Please be aware, during Christmas, nearly all shops/restaurants were closed in Iceland, even in Reykjavik. You can only purchase alcoholic drinks from the airport and government regulated shops(which were closed during XMas as well and are very hard to find). And lastly, Rent a car, buses don't run that often, taxi is way tooooo expensive.

Thanks Katrín for being the best host ever 🥰

The perfect location near the airport - but it feels like you are very remote. The cabin was cute, cozy and clean and just the right size for 4 adults. We loved the view. Our son enjoyed the hot tub too.

We had a fantastic stay, it was more than accommodating for our group of 7. The hot tub was a fantastic touch.

We stayed for some nights and simply loved this place. It's nice and cosy, with a breathtaking view. We loved having a relaxed breakfast watching the quiet scenery. Best of all was the private hot tub. We even saw Northern lights. We'll definitely book this cabin again. Also, communication with the host was very nice and convenient.
Two things, however I would recommend to improve: since the cabin is quite small (which is fine as such) and there is no place for a wardrobe, we had our clothes in the shelf. But when cooking breakfast in the open kitchen, all our clothes were smelling. No way to avoid the cooking dust staying on the clothes. It would be great if there would be a small cooker hood, to extract the fume from cooking.
Also a second towel rail in the bathroom would be nice, to dry the second towel or the bathrobes .

The rest was fabulous, and we truly recommend this place.

We booked one of the cabins at the last minute for the night before our departure from Iceland. The cabins felt secluded even though they were only 15 minutes from the airport. The cabin was spacious enough for 3 adults, and we appreciated having a small kitchen to make our dinner. The people who handled the bookings were quick to respond and gave us all the info we needed for a smooth check-in. From the photos on the website, we though the cabin was a stand-alone unit, so I was surprised when we saw that our cabin shared a wall with another unit. Thankfully we did not hear our neighbors and had a good night's sleep.

Just a wonderful little cabin near the ocean! Perfect for our family of four with a 9 year old and 12 year old. I wish we had a few more days to spend at this place and in Iceland. Very clean and we loved the hot tub!

Excellent cabin with amazing sunset views, on a golf course if that's your thing, 15 minute drive to the airport, 45 minutes to Reykjavik, great responsive host - literally nothing to complaint about. You will definitely enjoy your stay.

The Cabin was perfect for our one night stay before we departed back to London the following day. The cabin had everything we needed, perfectly clean and comfortable. We made use of the hot tub in the freezing cold weather and saw the Northern Lights. It was the perfect end to a perfect holiday. We would most certainly recommend this accommodation.

Must have a car to reach this destination, which was no problem for us because we had a car hire/rental. There is no public transit service or if there was one, we did not see it pass through.

We stayed in Cabin 5D which had a separate bedroom and a sofa bed in the living area which is open to the kitchen. Whomever has the sofa bed in the living area will not have privacy, so head's up if you are booking this cabin. We knew this when we booked, but I imagine if someone did not do their research, they'd be uneasy with the lack of privacy. My travel mates would make coffee early in the morning and the sound carried through the cabin while I slept on the sofabed but I did not mind.

There are black-out roller shades but the sides are not completely sealed so it is recommended to bring an eye/sleeping mask. Also bring earplugs because if your travel mates snore, you will not get any sleep. The birds can be quite noisy too :)

The cabin interior is clean and well-stocked. There is a small fridge which came in handy to store our groceries for meals. Kitchen was stocked with dishes, cutlery, and utensils. There is a kettle, some ground coffee, sugar, and a coffee machine with filters. The undersink had a small bin for green garbage (food scraps), a bin for recycling (glass and plastic), and a bin for "clean paper" (perhaps paper towels that have only been used for wiping up water, and newspaper). There was no bin for garbage, except for a very small one in the bathroom – it fills up fast when you have multiple guests staying for a few days or more.

The hot tub does not have jets, which I loved. It fills up with very hot geothermal water which can burn you if you're sensitive to high temperatures, so be careful. It takes 45 minutes to fill up. Very easy to work.

I noticed that when the neighbouring cabin (5C) would fill up their hot tub, the water pressure for our cabin (5D) would lower. So if you happened to shower while they were filling their tub, you'd have a weak shower experience. Not a problem, I just waited 45 minutes until I needed to shower. Just a small inconvenience. The rest of the time, the shower had good pressure and heated water up very fast.

In the bathroom, I wish there was more counter top space; they could add a cabinet or open bookshelf to help with temporary storage of guests' toiletries. We were a group of 3 so we wish there were more hooks in the bathroom to hang towels/wet swimsuits.

It only occurred to us when we arrived that our cabin (Cabin 5 C/D) was semi-detached so we had another guest next door and we could hear them open/close their front door (and they could definitely hear us as well). It was not a bother as the guests were quiet and respectful.

The cabins are located next to a golf course, so when I was in the hot tub late at night in the summer, I could see golf enthusiasts still playing. There is no "view" of the ocean – you'd have to take a long walk closer to the shore to see anything, but you can definitely smell the ocean scent and hear the birds.

Guests should be warned that these cabins are built near birds' nests and during nesting season (summer) the birds can be very territorial and will act defensively if you are walking too close to their nests (which are in the ground because there are little to no trees in Iceland).

There is no air conditioning but opening the windows and doors to let in the fresh air was nice.

Overall, the experience was positive and I would absolutely return!

Our family enjoyed our stay at Cabin A. It was cozy and accommodating for a family of 4. It was nice to have a separate room with 2 twin beds as my kids do not like to sleep together. The cabin is about 15 minutes from the airport, but more like 45 minutes from Reykjavik, but getting around by car is very easy to do. We did walk to the Lighthouse, which was a bit much for us, but we had already committed so we didn't want to turn back. It's also amazing how hot the water is, and how warm the cabin gets. Several times we had to turn down the heat or crack open a window. Overall this is a great place for a family to stay, though not close to the city, but still central enough for us to do what we wanted on the Reykjanes Peninsula.

Remote seaside cabin(s) on short distance of the airport, 10min drive to/from the airport. Stayed in Cabin 5C for 2 nights, used the hottub one time and it really is an addition to the cabin! Tub was filled within an hour and stayed warm for atleast 2 hours despite the harsh winds. You could really tell the cabin was kept clean and well, fully equiped kitchen and bathroom was excellent! Shower cubicle was quite slippery when wet so maybe a tip for next time to put in an anti-slip mat or something? But overall a great stay and would definitely recommend them! Even got their own Netflix so you don't have to hassle with your own, check-in and check-out was flawless.

Great cabin! We enjoyed our stay. The cabin was VERY small for my family of 5, with little space for our bags but we found it clean and well equipped. Thanks for the accommodations on our Iceland adventure. The hot tub and sunsets were THE BEST!

Wonderful spot, close to the airport and nice golf course if you brought your clubs. Some of the cabins are split but designed to provide privacy and very quiet. The private hot tub is amazing. Loved the place. Would definitely stop again.

The only negative I can think of is that we couldn't stay another night. We had planned on going into the town for a meal but decided to just get a take away to spend more time in the cabin.
The cabins are well stocked, warm and comfortable.
Very close to airport and keflavik but you would not think that as they still maintain a feeling of being in the wilderness.
If I am ever back in Iceland I will 100% try to stay here again.

Great cabins. Had a splendid time and its not far from Reykjavík and Grindavík so you’re able to get a lot of places from Keflavik easily. It was very clean and welcoming. My only complaint was the bed size, as we are very tall people, the bed was atrocious for us. But theres a cute little kitchen (also very small for tall people so watch your head) and there was spices, oils, and cooking-ware so we could cook. Overall a very pleasant experience and we got a nice view of the water and northern lights. This was our view from our cabin

Cabin was just as promised. A roomy, quiet space steps away from the ocean. The cabin was clean and very comfortable. Outdoor hot tub was a huge plus! Katrin was so helpful and quickly responded to our questions and requests. We’d definitely stay at Ocean Break again.

I have spent 10 days in Iceland travelling across the country with my daughter. We have chosen this accommodation for the proximity to Keflavik international airport. Our return flight took off at 7:30am. We have spent two wonderful nights at the Ocean Break Cabins. Whilst we did not had time to use the kitchen and the jacuzzi, we had relaxing time in this very clean property. If you plan to stay close to the airport or in Reykjanes region I highly recommend this place.
