Tálknafjördur Campsite

This camping is so tuned into relaxing experience. Beautiful green area with forest. On the walk there we even found a hummock waiting for us and offering chilling under the trees.

Many toilets - not even once I experienced a queue to any of them. And all taken care of. It is felt in the people energy and way of being here that everyone is happy and relaxed.

The kitchen - equipped with all we needed to cook and eat here.

The owner/manager of the camping made us feel like home. Thank you for heart-warming morning talk.

I’d love to spend here more time. I will come back and I will be recommending that place to my friends.

A great place for campsite.!!
I visited this place with my daughter in august, it s so quiet, really nice place, you can buy some fresh fish in the village i bought too many thing to this fisherman (24h/24h, free pick up), delicious soup , a perfect sunset , purple/pink/yellow...the keeper is great...
Of course you have the hot pot..

Very beautiful camping site with all facilties.
It is close to the swimming pool so it's very practical if you want to go there for swimming or for a good gym session.
It's also close to a very nice hot pot.
And the owner was very kind.
I recommend it !

Basic camping spot with simple facilities, but it does have a kitchen and seating area. We enjoyed it for the recommendations for nearby short walks from the owner and for the close proximity of the hot baths.

Overall, my time at the campsite was nothing short of wonderful. From the stunning surroundings to the warm and knowledgeable host, it was an experience that will stay with me for a long time. If you're looking for a perfect blend of nature, hospitality, and insider tips, this campsite is the place to be! The price was 1700 Kronas for a person that is much less than in the rest of Iceland. And in the morning the host made super tasty coffee for every guest that wanted it. A perfect experience.

Nice camp near small forest. There are two small showers, nothing too luxury but clean. You can use kitchen where you can cook something or enjoy hot tea. The new owner is a really cool guy, such a nice person. I can really recommend!

Adorable campground with everything you need for a peaceful stay. Playground for kids and well laid out with shady spots and a clothes line for drying. Community hot springs is just a short drive away. Check out the local goods at the farm on your way out of town. Made by locals and sold out of the barn.

Been there last summer with my family and what to say... We were lucky to catch a day of great weather and Tálknafjördur is a quiet town where time doesn't exist. Kristinn is really kind and not afraid to go the extra mile for his guests. Definitely recommend!

Amazing parking / camping site! Having toilets, shower and kitchen facilities, and also beautiful surroundings, it’s the perfect place to stay. Very welcoming staff. Natural hot pool nearby.

One of the best campsites during our Iceland trip. Everything was very clean, there is a swimming pool right on the site, the location is quiet and the price is fair. The owner is really friendly and knows a lot about the area.

The best campsite we've been to so far. A place surrounded by a coniferous forest, with numerous paths for walking, we even found a hammock! :) well-equipped kitchen (plates, cups, pans, pots), showers included in the price, as well as 3 places with a toilets. It's clean and smells okey :) They have a jumping atttaction for children, a volleyball court, little football court and a playground. Just next to the camping is swimming pool, gym and 3km from the campsite a great hotpot (Pollurinn on the map) with a beautiful view. We will definitely be back ❤

Campground is super well kept and the faculty are amazing. The pool is very relaxing. Hiking trails nearby the site as well. Will be stopping back to say hi and hike!

Beautiful campsite! They had everything! Gym, pool, Hot pools , place to cook food and very clean showers and bathrooms. As well as TREES! The campsite Host Kristinn was very polite and super knowledgeable with Icelandic Culture ,points of interest and campgrounds. He showed us all the beautiful places to see! In the WestFjords.

After spending two weeks in Iceland camping, this location is by far my favorite. It’s nestled right between the mountains and the beach, that which also has a bird sanctuary on it. Down the road 5 min by car is a free, natural hot spring and it’s also right by the pool. There’s a restaurant called Dunhagi, a stones throw away as well that has the best food we tasted on our whole trip. Bathroom faculties are great, shower, laundry and electricity available. There’s also the most helpful camp host, who is from the town and has a wealth of knowledge to share about the area. I highly suggest staying here and taking a midnight stroll through the magical woods that start right on the campground and lead into town over a cute bridge.

Wonderful, lovely, campsite with stunning views and warm caring people. Absolutely would stay and will go back to stay again.

We drove our RV out to Talknafjordur Campsite in the Westfjords of Iceland and were greeted by the campsite host with smiles and lots of fun activities and information. He was so knowledgeable about the history of Iceland, the town and all the surrounding areas. He had guided hikes available, restaurant reservations, tours to the hot pools and many other things, the whole enchilada!

The campground was immaculate, toilets, sinks, showers and community cooking area in excellent condition and very clean. There is a pool, hot tub, and spa accessible just steps from the campground. I loved how close the campsite was to the ocean at Talknafjordur. We even went for a polar plunge! Space for large or small RV’s, tents, car camping, motorcycle camping, bicycle camping. Any camping! Definitely a must see campground.

Beautiful campsite right by the fjord! Forested area with a pool and hot springs nearby. The owner was super nice and gave great advice on things to do in the area. I would definitely stay here again and recommend this place if visiting the westfjords.

It was our second time at the Talknafjördür campsite and we stayed for two nights.
The Talknafjördür campsite offers a unique experience for nature lovers. The location is simply spectacular, surrounded by majestic mountains and offering breathtaking views of the fjord. The facilities at the campsite are excellent. There are spacious pitches that are well-maintained and clean. The sanitary facilities are also very clean. There are free showers and there is a swimming pool right at the campsite. The wifi on the whole place is free and worked very well - great!
The staff-guy at the campsite was extremely friendly and helpful. He provided us with valuable tips for exploring the area.
Special mention should be made of the restaurant Dunhagi - a true hidden gem - which is located right next to the campsite. Here we have already eaten for the second time probably the best lamb of our lives. The restaurateur is super friendly and cooks you with local and fresh food. An absolute must when you are here!
I highly recommend this campsite to anyone who wants to experience the beauty of Icelandic nature up close. We will definitely be coming back!

Beautiful camping site in the nature with all the facilities needed. Super clean bathroom, kitchen with everything to cook, and a very friendly and helpful personnel. Right next to an hot tub, hot springs at 5 min by car, rich bird life all around with seabirds/ducks just across the road and many more in the camp. Warmly recommended !

Nice Hot pot nearby, a swimming pool, a restaurant serving really good food (I do recommend the chocolate cake with ice cream)

There are bushes protecting the camp ground from the wind and also good WIFI all around.

Lovely camping site in the nature, super clean bathroom and very friendly and helpful personnel. Washing machine and dryer available for 1500 ISK. Right next to an amazing hot tub, if skies are clear you can walk out the road in the darkness and see northern lights (we did see some in mid September ‘22)
