This Church was an amazing stop while walking through the historic center of Altamura. The inside is extremely impressive and beautiful. The murals and statues are amazing. Saint Mary is a recommended stop.

Absolutely gorgeous and well-kept cathedral in the old town. We could visit the premises through the courtesy of the keeper who was about to close the doors.

It was built by Emperor Federico II di Svevia between 1232 and 1254 D.C. and it is the first monument of Altamura.
The characters of the cathedral are twin bell towers and the large rose-window on the facade.
You can go up to "matronei" , who is the place when the girls and children used to view the religious celebration in the middle age.
If you go up to the roof you can admire a fantastic view.

The cathedral that is seen from all the points of Altamura. It is absolutely beautiful inside and outside, in particular, the entrance stands out by figural work of miniature sculptures.
