We had such a great trip. We went as a family with our adult children and we still had such a great time even though we had no young children of our own. There was stuff to do when we wanted to or we could just relax too. The entertainment staff may be all of our favorite part of the vacation. They knew us by name and helped make the trip as great as it was!

So here's the deal on Ochos Rios - if you do not have kids there is absolutely no reason to be there. If you have kids and don't want to be worried about them ruining furniture in a 5 star hotel, then this is the place for you.

Our kids had a blast, so we did too. Is it Sandals? No. But if you're looking for a relaxing vacation with the kids but also want to get a nanny for a romantic candlelight dinner one night, this is the place!

The staff is very warm and helpful. We were in the Greek Village, concierge level, and we recommend that. The concierge made all our dinner and activity reservations for us, and gave us a written schedule so we knew where we needed to be.

The bus ride is 2 hours so be prepared. Also remember, you are in a third world country, so you are going to catch glimpses of that. Their idea of road safety is a little different than ours LOL

Have been to Sandals resorts before but this was my first experience at a Beaches. This was a family vacation (kids 9, 11, 13) and this was a wonderful resort- very kid friendly, lots of activities and great food. The staff are very accommodating and the events and shows are a lot of fun. Only a handful of restaurants but each was very good. I have noted that some other reviews indicate that the resort could use some renovation and upkeep and while this is true, it is mostly cosmetic and nothing that interferes with the the enjoyment of the resort. Water activities (snorkeling, kayaks, catamarans, boat rides) were all included and made for a really nice experience for the kids. This a 2+ hour drive from the Montego Bay airport which is not ideal, but I understand that the Ian Fleming airport is opening to international flights so future rides would be only 10 minutes to the resort. The only issue I had was with the reservation policy for the restaurants. Reservations were available but only for people I. The concierge rooms. This made it a bit difficult to organize dinner time and not have to wait for tables. It was only an issue once or twice but I am not sure why anyone couldn’t reserve a dinner time.

Overall we all had a wonderful time and enjoyed the resort tremendously.

Me and my family stayed at Beaches Ocho Rios in January for my Dads 60th Birthday celebration, and it was an amazing experience. The staff, the resort, the location was all great. This was by far my favorite vacation. Beaches is Ocho Rios is a wonderful place for anyone looking to have some fun on vacation with the family. My personal favorite was the entertainment crew with Delano, Panda and the rest of the crew. They were the heart of the resort. They truly make you feel like family and I look forward to going back sooner than later.

From Philly to Jamaica..One Love.

Let’s start by…

*no staff… all family
* be ready to enjoy an amazing experience!!!
*fun for both kids and adults
* your not going to want to leave

The turner 10 stayed at Beaches Ocho Rios and had a TIME!!!!We stayed 5 days 4nights and celebrated my cousins 10 year wedding anniversary…this is not*** our first time here it’s actually our 4th!!!!! At this point we are family. From start to finish. We enjoyed the private Beaches airport welcome area… where we enjoyed cocktails and snacks after a long morning of travel.

We then were able to travel via private transportation to a local stop and enjoyed our first taste of Caribbean cuisine… and let me tell you MANNNNN that food was good… then we enjoyed music and just the overall feeling of being “home”… after about a 1 hour 45minute ish drive we were greeted with smiles and cold towels to adjust our body’s to the AMAZING Jamaican weather… as we luggage was checked in and brought to our assigned rooms… the amazing, thoughtful, sweet, so hospitable Mikale greeted all of us and worked with my cousins throughout their stay and ensuring all needs were met from special request, from food needs, from private babysitter, to a listening ear, to a family member!!! BIG LOVE Always. There are so many moments memories made from the constant events such as glow parties, parades, dance contest, magic shows, beach parties, water sports, special pop ups from dressed characters for the kids…to the best bartenders on this side of the island…

there are so many things and so limited characters… I’ll wrap by saying this there were definitely some heart strings left at Beaches…

HUGE!!! shout outs to:
Raheem- hardest working man there hands down… you know the count come to US we got you!!! Brudda
Sashaye- sis thank you thank you thank you for EVERYTHING !!!! Well wishes from stateside sis xoxoxo
Ophelia
Yoyo
Maressa
Oneisha
Joshawn
Conwae
Frome the deep deep parts of our family’s heart we thank you!!!! You all really helped us during our stay. My prayers are that each of you and all other staff are validated and seen and compensated***for you hard works.

Alright…. It’s been a time and we are heading back with really heavy hearts… this is my personal 3rd time back and I have just one suggestion. I am not sure what has happened or what needs to happen but I remember visiting my first time in 2007 and there were so many (staff) aka family members we met then, I believe Raheem was one of them, and the staff was able to interact more without fear of losing their job. As I understand times have changed and people have changed… but you have really really really dope staff (coming from the states) let up on my family… they deserve trust to do just what their doing their best at their job. Funny thing is, none of the red hats (managers spoke) but the staff hands down is TOP TIER. Really hard to come by these feels in the states about customer service or experiences in general… again thank you to all staff my apologies if I missed you my apologies…

WAIT WAIT WAIT Marlene and the housekeeping staff SISSSSTTAASS!!! Our room was laid and you keep our rooms stocked with all the clean, best beverages, towel refresh!!! Thank you Beaches…

We will be back (check out track record)… and from our family to our family…

10 out of 10. Traveled with 3 kids 10, 6 and 3 years old and family. Impossible to not have a great time. Staff made sure everyone was engaged and having fun the entire week. Tons of included activities. Service was stellar, food and drinks were excellent.

We visited Beaches Ocho Rios on our kids Spring break, April 11-18, 2024. Everything was amazing from start to finish. The Mobey experience was awesome. Our two kids (5,7) enjoyed everything and didn’t want to leave kid’s camp. We will definitely come back, when I don’t know, but our vacation was fabulous. The staff was amazing. I didn’t get everyone’s name but here are a few that made our vacation memorable.

All the staff was super nice and accommodating. Nice resort. Plenty of things to do. There was lots of choices for food and it was for the most part all very good. We enjoyed our stay and would go back.

Our flight was late arriving, so our large party was tired, hot, and bewildered. From the time we cleared customs at Montego Bay until we were returned to the airport one week later, we were treated well by all (but one) staff members exceptionally well. Geneva, the lady who looked after our room, did an excellent job, and was most helpful for the entire week. (She even brought me extra coffee for our little coffee machine.) Rojay, who gave us our facilities tour, was very knowledgeable, and his information helped us get our week off to a good start. All of the hostesses and waitresses/waiters (but one) knew how to make our experiences pleasant and positive. Unfortunately, the one (waiter) made our first dining experience as a large (13) group very disappointing. It's the first time I have ever had to order through a "show of hands". He messed up drinks orders, food orders, and blamed the "kitchen" for his mistakes. We had five kids ages between 5 and 10, and they got their food last. We had a reservation for 6:00 p.m. and didn't receive food until almost 7:30 p.m. We observed two other tables that he was tending receive the same type of service. This particular experience was the only "bad" one for the week. All else was excellent. The kids, both small and tall, had fun. And, isn't that the point of a sun vacation?

Beaches Ocho Rios was everything we could ask for in a family resort. The resort has many different activities in a compact area, so little legs are not exhausted getting to the fun activities.Snorkeling, Snuba and Scuba diving were our favorite activities and the staff were friendly and safety oriented. We rode the banana boat, stand up paddle board and tried kayaking. The waterpark has something for everyone from toddlers to adults. The pool and the beach were clean and beautiful. Meals were delicious, with several different restaurants as well as the buffet. The entertainment group put on different presentations that entertained from babies to adults. I would recommend this resort to families.

I truly enjoyed my birthday trip to Jamaica. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. The kids club provided inclusion to autism and made my daughter feel extremely comfortable as she’s autistic and non-verbal. Shameria was my daughter’s beach buddy. I can’t wait to visit again. I will definitely recommend Beaches Ocho Rios to friends and family.

My daughters and I stayed at this location for our first trip to Jamaica maun! We stayed in the beachfront room with concierge service. Everything was wonderful! I don’t have any complaints! The hospitality provided to me and my girls was top tier! The food was amazing! (I’m a picky eater) The drinks, swimup bar and entertainment was fun! The water sports provided are for real: banana boat, sailing, snorkeling, paddle boards! I mean, we had the best time! The fresh crepes, yummy!! The ride from the airport is long but the team of drivers are very cautious and responsible so I can respect that. From the time of arrival to the time we get off the bus at the airport, everyone was respectful and showed great hospitality! If you want to visit Jamaica with family, this resort is the place. Yes, kids were everywhere BUT it’s a family resort so if you don’t mind kids, this is the place!!! This was my favorite island I’ve visited yet because of the experience at Beaches OR and will be back next year!

We had a group of 19 visiting Beaches to celebrate my 40th birthday! We had the most amazing time! The weather was perfection. The ocean was beautiful. The ten kids ranged in age from 5-12. Everyone had the best time. There was something for everyone: waterpark, playing in the pool, ice cream machine, frozen drinks, water sports, kids club. It was the perfect balance of kid, family, friend and adult time. We always felt safe and happy. The staff was amazing! A few really made the experience even better. In particular, Jahmarley at Opa Sunset bar. We loved going to this oceanside beach bar. It was the best bar there. The sounds of the waves, the fresh breeze and Jahmarley's smiling face. We wished this bar was open later. 10p is too early! Jaheim was also at Opa Bar and he also really enhanced this experience. Again, we wish we had more late night time at this bar. Timron is another favorite. He always seemed happy to see us and really got to know everyone including the kids. Roshane at Neptunes made my birthday night! He handled our big group with no problem. It was fun to see him carrying things out on his head. Especially when he brought my birthday dessert. The group had a great time! Sasha Lee at the Venetian restaurant was so great with our kids. She helped make it a fun, relaxed dinner for all of us adults and we so appreciated her!
Oneisha always has so much energy and excitement to get the party going. Whether it's a kids activity or the adults just needed some motivation she was there to help bring the fun!
Dukel was with us for our cabana rental and we felt so taken care of. He seemed to read minds and was always right there as soon as we were thinking about wanting something. Highly recommend a cabana rental. It was really nice to have a reserved home base with some shade. Thank you Dukel!
My only recommendations for improvement are to have some food options down by the beach, have more kid friendly foods available at all restaurants and to have the Opa bar stay open later.
We loved this trip so much. We booked to go to Negril next time but I am already missing the ambiance and staff of Ocho Rios. Thank you for making this trip unforgettable with memories that will last a lifetime!

We just left our 5 night (first visit) at Beaches Ochos Rios and we enjoyed our time very much! The staff have been absolutely wonderful - very friendly and accommodating! They single handedly made the trip. I hope Beaches recognizes their amazing staff and all the efforts they make!

I was nervous about this trip because of all the bad reviews, but honestly, it turned out to be one of our favorite getaways. The place isn't in brand new mint condition, and it's in need of some maintenance here and there (especially the beach elevator that guests jokingly call the Tower of Terror) but everything was very clean! From the rooms to the public restrooms, everything was kept in clean conditions. We had the beach walk-out room and my daughter and I watched a movie late at night in our PJ's on the beach (one of my favorite things we did). Waking up and being a few steps from the ocean was priceless - it felt like the entire beach was ours most days. This was such a great trip to be able to get some quality family time in.

The food is what you'd expect at an all-inclusive. We had some bad meals and some good ones. The best part about a bad meal, is we would just walk over to the buffet and grab something different. Try everything and you'll find your favorite things (I couldn't get enough of the nutty banana smoothie for breakfast!).

Seemed there was always activities going on and something to do! From the parade, to the banana boat ride, we had a blast. We are planning on returning next year!

We visited Beaches Ocho Rios resort on January 25th-30th with family and friends to celebrate our wedding. We had a group ranging from ages 15-76 and everyone had a great time.
Our wedding was amazing! My resort wedding planner ToniAnn ( Ashleigh) was just incredible!! She made sure everything was perfect for my day. She went above and beyond on what I expected and added things to make it even more wonderful!! I couldn't be more grateful for all she did!!
The ladies at the salon( Andrea and Natalie) took great care of me as well! They also went above and beyond on their services and generosity! My hair and makeup was perfect!!
All of the staff were so friendly and kind. They were always smiling and happy to help!!
We are so happy with our stay and our Wedding!! It was amazing and will always remember our time at this resort!!

Where to start! I was incredibly nervous about coming here, we booked it first and then checked the reviews out! I have no idea why people are so critical of this place! The staff has been absolutely incredible!!! Everyone is so happy and friendly!! We have been to several resorts and the staff always seem irritated with all the tourist THIS IS NOT THE CASE HERE!! The way the staff interacts with everyone makes you feel like you’ve been here for months! We saw a family having a hard time settling down their infant at dinner the hostess went over to offer help and bounced around with little one! Baby laughs make every experience that much better! They do a ton of activities with all the kids too! We couldn’t be happier!

The bad part…. There is no bad it’s Jamaica mon!! I’m not here for the food (I wish there more authentic food but like I said I’m not here for the food!) as far as everyone complaining about the rooms, did you really spend all that money to inspect your room? Who cares if the paint is cracking?? I laughed at all those miserable people they seem to have forgot what vacation is all about! No worries and be happy!

The resort is amazing! Staff, food, facilities, was above and beyond what we expected. The shuttle out may seem long, but our driver kept us entertained through out. We will be back!

Great resort, very good sized room for our family of 4, the restaurants were fantastic, and we had to DRAG our kids out of the waterpark. The staff truly made our vacation memorable. Traveling with 2 kids who are special needs is never easy but the staff took their time with them, even making sure to call them by name every day.

We cannot wait to go back!! Hopefully by our next trip, more airlines will be at the airport closer to this resort.
