Hotel Riu Ocho Rios

Great resort! It's a bit of a drive from the airport, but worth it. The entertainment is UNREAL. There are always people cleaning every where everything all the time. Very clean. We were constantly asked for feedback and if we were enjoying ourselves or if there was anything we needed from the staff. The food was plentiful and always available. There were so many options I didn't have a chance to try everything in 7 days. The drinks were amazing, so many options and so many really fancy Carribean kinds to choose from. The pools were so well organized and really really nice. There were pools on the quieter side of the resort but they also had pools where the crowd was more rowdy and there were more activities. Over all amazing resort. Would highly recommend. Food drink and entertainment was by far the best I have ever seen at any resort.

I stayed here with my family over Christmas. I had a really enjoyable visit. The room was comfortable and clean. The thing that set this hotel apart from a couple of the others we stayed at was the energy and the good vibes of the staff (particularly the entertainment staff - honourable mention to Zoë.) The entertainment here was top notch. The white party on the beach was one of the highlights of our stay here.

Food, drink and service was all good. I love the time on the beach and the presence and availability of the staff enabled my family and I feel safe and secure. Definitely recommend a stay here.

Went to the resort for a family holiday/birthday. Had an amazing experience, the food was delicious, drinks were refreshing and hotel was clean. Housekeeping did an amazing job. The entertainment team did a great job of keeping us entertained during our stay. Make sure to check out the excursions and water sport activities, they were great. Quick tip: be sure to bring enough clothes for your stay because laundry service is quite slow and tell catering staff when its your birthday, they'll sing you a legendary reggae birthday song. Great trip. Would 100% recommend.

Hotel Riu Ocho Rios was Absolutely Amazing!!! You have to book a trip. From the time I stepped foot on the property Everything was Amazing! So much to see and do daily, my family and I were there 6 days and I have Absolutely No complaints.. The smiles, the small talk with staff, the FOOD!!! And my room was Clean, Big Enough for 3 people and the View was Great, early mornings while everyone was asleep I went onto the balcony to PRAY, very peaceful and calming!!

I do not have small children, my two girls are older (but do love kids) yet I Absolutely Loved the fact that the Life Guards made sure the kids stayed out the Adult pool, in a very respectful/fun way to the kids!

Did I mention the fact that the Resort, grows its own flowers that the Faculty hand pick daily to add design to each room!!

The fact that they have staff on site (for a fee) that will drive you off property to any excursions you choose was a very Safe and reliable addition for me!

Only wish that the resort had an ATM, Because everything off property does require money! Maybe in the near future?!?!

One suggestion I will leave to New Visitors, do bring cash for tips for the staff, They do work hard to make our vacation pleasent.! And no matter what I asked for or questions they were available to answer!

We stayed here after Thanksgiving 2023 and the property is lovely. We liked the beach but did not like the shade that came early in the afternoon. Did not pay attention to this when booking, our fault not the resorts. We had the most amazing moon vistas every night from our balcony. Food was good as normal with Riu.

The only negative I have and again this is a personal choice was the resort was much larger than we like.

Will we visit again? We are pretty loyal to the Riu brand so the answer to this is yes.

The hotel was wonderful. The food was delicious, especially for an all-inclusive.

The only downside with service was that staff expected tips. As a Brit, we aren’t accustomed to that culture, meaning that staff would prefer American guests.

The complex was beautiful, the pools and beach outstanding. Would highly recommend.

We had a delightful experience during our stay at this hotel.
The room was exceptionally clean and provided a high level of comfort with a cozy bed, pillow, and mattress.

Buffet showcased a fantastic variety of high-quality food, and the reserved restaurants offered amazing dishes.

The entertainment team made each night unique and enjoyable, demonstrating not only great skills but also remarkable friendliness and attentiveness, remembering our names and greeting us throughout the hotel area.

The fitness program, featuring Trix, yoga, aqua fitness, and Reubma, led by two professional coaches, added to our enjoyment.

However, I encountered an issue at the gift shop when purchasing souvenirs. Despite buying items during a promotion, the bill didn't reflect the correct items, and when I returned to the store, they didn't accept the return. Additionally, some items listed on the bill weren't even available in the store. This was disappointing.

Food and drinks were available inside and outside all the time. I particularly enjoyed the variety of food and drinks near the pool and at the pool bar.

Fantastic hotel for families. Lots of bars through the day with pool bars and the cart that travels around, but not enough in the evening for the size of the place. Rooms are great. Good entertainment throughout the day, and ok in the evening. A bit repetitive. The restaurants are more buffet style and don't really give you that restaurant feel. Could do with a dedicated coffee shop with it being in the shadows of the famous blue mountains. Overall a great place and fantastic location, but more for families than couples. Staff where on point and engaging.

We had a really great time at the water park with a super friendly, helpful staff ! The beach is very nice with turquoise water! Room is clean and the cocktails were so good ! I strongly suggest they could improve their Asian’s cuisine .

Me and my friend Monika stayed here the last week . We had such a nice experience. The staff , the location , food and beach were 10/10 . The entertainment staff Anthony and Skittles made our time even more enjoyable. I would highly recommend booking with this resort !!!

Amazing resort. Super clean. Friendly staff. Buffet is amazing, delicious. Many pools so you can decide if you want to party or just relax. Lots of chairs on the beach as well.

First time here, although seeing a lot of negative reviews, this resort did not disappoint! Rooms were super clean, staff always pleasant. The ride from the airport was painfully but worth it. Lots to do, beach was super clean, lots of available loungers. Did some snorkeling at the beach and saw mantaray, stingray and starfish. Many activities for the kids. Recommended

Fabulous Staff and Resort! Beautiful beach and pools! This was our 2nd visit there with friends and we had an amazing vacation. The remodel is so fresh and beautiful. The staff is amazing. Travis (Supervisor in the Steakhouse and Buffet) makes you feel like family-we hope he continues to rise in Management. Shevelle (Supervisor in Sports Bar) always had a smile on her face and was very welcoming and made sure we had a great time whenever we saw her. Angelicia (Server for breakfast in Italian Restaurant) was the sweetest! We cannot wait to return next year to this amazing place with the best people!! We love you Jamaica!!

Stayed at this hotel many times, although the cost has increased over the years it’s still value for money. The rooms are spacious bright and always clean. So glad the mini bar is back! The food is good with plenty to choose from. I missed the mangoes in January as they weren’t in season. Lots of choice from Jamaican cuisine curry goat, to European paella and pasta. Great salad bar and a fresh juice selection at breakfast. Lots of cocktail choices throughout the day. Poolside and evening entertainment very good, although I’ve seen the MJ performance at least 3 times. Riu Ochi is a great hotel, just hope the in house thieves are no longer working there, has I’ve heard some horrible stories from friends who had their things taken from rooms. Just be careful to lock your valuables away, or just leave them at home.

I stayed here in 2022 for my birthday and still think about it all the time, the staff is seriously amazing and so kind, so much entertainment every night. the food is the best i’ve had at an all inclusive resort. would absolutely stay here again

Great place! Very nice people, and professional. We ate, we drank, we did water aerobics! 😂 wife talked me into that btw. I’d like to give a particular shout out to the masseuses Novelette and Sherrie’. We went for a couples massage to start the day and it was fantastic! The pressure these ladies were able to apply had me wondering if a 300 lb man had come in the room after I put my head down! It was so good we went a second time. Be sure to request them. You won’t be disappointed. AND TIP THEM WELL!!!! All in all just a great vacation. Thanks Riu Ochos Rios!!

Christmas in Jamaica was awesome. Reserve speciality restaurants in advance; they book up early. Entertainment and shows were delightful. Smell throughout resort when cleaning was terrible when we were leaving. Rooms had a weird smell that had me coughing. A/C seemed to help. All of the bartenders were spirited and engaging.

Thank you to all the Hotel staff who work extremely hard, from the cleaners to kitchen staff, bar tenders. And I big shout out to all the entertainment staff. You all made our experience in Jamaica amazing and we will definitely be back. Thank you

My stay here was beautiful. I am extremely impressed by the service and the way everything got better. i have read reviews and i do understand that everyone's experience may be different. my room was cleaned i was amazed, unfortunately my friends their room had ants they had to switch rooms. However I was shocked to see the cleaning supervisors in the lobby asking customers how their room was serviced. That shows me that this hotel has read the reviews and they're trying to be better. i love this hotel and what it has to offer. I will visit this hotel again. some of the reviews are just ridiculous and certain things are out of the hotel staffs control. clean rooms, safety , entertainment, food prep, customer service, yes the hotel can control that but everything else is nonsense. this hotel is worth visiting.

my family and i got a daypass to this resort while we were docked in ocho rios. we had a fabulous time to say the least. the all inclusive day pass was an awesome experience. the beach was stunning and hosted an inviting crowd. the front desk associates were extremely friendly and took great consideration into their work. thank you for a memorable day, RIU- we will definitely be returning sometime soon!
