Cheongok Golden Bat Cave

Cheongok cave is an absolutely amazing natural place to see in Donghae. It is very beautiful and the staff also will assist you with helmets to stay safe. Inside is a little bit cold , so wearing a jacket is advised.

During Chuseok Day, the Cave is still opened.
I was a beautiful experience, the duration of the expedition is less than 1 hour. I think, it is worth to go, while you are visiting Donghae, because it located in the middle of the city and the price is only 4,000 Won.

A great place to visit when you want to cool off for the summer. These naturally cool caves have interesting formations and fun, wacky tunnels to entertain and keep you engaged.

They give safety helmets for protection. When it rains, the caves are closed due to risks in flooding.

This was so easy to get to and such an amazing experience. I've only ever been to a cave once before, but it was one with water that we swam through. Walking through this cave was really cool, it can be a bit difficult for taller people like myself, and some of the routes are narrow / low, so pay attention to the signs, but other than that. Really great experience! It was gorgeous and fun to go with friends!

Absolutely fascinating place to visit.

Very nice cave to go in summer. Very cool temperature wise and a great break from the summer humidity. It's nice quick experience with a few cool rock formations inside. Interestingly in the middle of the downtown area.
I do recommend going during the week as there is less people to go to feel safe during this corona Pandemic. Also toilet is spacios and great for peeing.

Cheongok Golden Bat Cave(#천곡황금박쥐동굴) in Donghae is the only natural cave in Korea located in a downtown area. Estimated to have been created 400 to 500 million years ago, the cave is known to serve as a habitat for the endangered golden bats. The cave's total length stretches for 1,510 meters, with only 810 meters of the cave open the public while the rest of cave remains protected for preservation purposes. The cave's unique features provide a grand spectacle for tourists and great speleological samples for researchers.

Awesome cave. Just be careful if you are tall. (they do give you a helmet)
I'm only 163cm but I was almost in my knees at one point going through the cave. It was great to see the cave, so much fun

It was very cool in the cave. We have to keep on ghe helmet inside. This cave is located in the middle of the city. Good location!

That's amazing to visit there, there is safety hat for everyone that I really like, the way inside the cave was made to convenient to walk, it's suitable for kids that like adventure time,and also for me.. :)
