Pettigala Mountain Range

This square shaped little rock is located in Teldeniya and is only about 13 Kms from Pilawala, Kandy where I live. It's about a 20 to 30 mins drive and the road is quite good. You can buy food and drink from passing shops and boutiques if you need. Once you reach the destination you have to pass through a Buddhist temple. You may have to donate a small amount for the temple but that should be fine as the temple partly maintains the place, etc. The care takers said we don't need to remove our shoes since we were climbing the hill. The hill is covered with rocks from the start and surrounded with shrubbery and foliage. the hike uphill is only about 1 hour and the view from the rock at the top is simply amazing and breath taking! it's definitely a place to visit for hiking lovers and outdoor geeks. I'm looking forward to visiting again soon. Enjoy, have fun!

Very beautiful place. Balangoda valley is very beautiful. Samanala lake can be seen from below. A beautiful place for all those who love the environment.

Place is most adventure ,hiking time is about 3 or 4 hours ,be safe because of the road is nearing the fall|
