AHANGAMA RIVER TOUR

This experience is unique and the place is magical, the natural way and peace make it a very pleasant tour. Dama is a great person with a big heart and great knowledge, this is reflected in how he treats the environment and the nature that surrounds it. From the arrival without prior notice, during the boat tour until the end, always with a smile and willing to explain anything and answer any questions. Without a doubt one of my favorite places in Sri Lanka. Hope everything goes well for you, your family and your dogs! I will come back for sure.

Had an amazing boat river Tour with Mogli, who is such a nice guy with a lot of good storys about animals and plants. Experienced a beautiful sunset and a magical moment with hundrets of fireflys. Would defenately recommend this tour!

This place is a hidden gem.
Peaceful, lush green, quite and just perfect.
The boat ride on the river during sunset was magical and calm. We really had good chats and enjoyed every minute while floating on the water.

We had dinner here too
and to be honest - it was the best curry in whole Sri Lanka - so yummy!!

I recommend this tour for sure, the whole family business is just meant to be supported cause they are all so nice.

Really great experience, lovely landscapes and the people working there (The Mowlis as they call themselve) there are amazing. Great family story. The food was great too and we took pics with monkeys, baby dogs and more.

Absolutely beautiful river cruise and seafood barbecue with Dama and his team. Such a lovely man, very knowledgeable about the river and clearly loves all animals. Alpa the puppy was the best addition to the boat also.

I did the river safari as a last-day-event before my return to Europe and I am so happy to have been able to end my trip with such a great evening. The guide and his family have created a beautiful place aside the Ahangama River and welcome you with the warmth and kindnes of Sri Lankan hospitality.

The trip itself was a wonderful reconnection to nature. Far away from any streets, the tour on the river was quiet and almost somewhat magical - Dama knew pretty much every plant, flower or bird we encountered.

As they do not use electrical engines, the boat was floating quietly over the water, not disturbing the nature at all - eco-tourism how it is supposed to be! The guide is also very passionate about keeping the environment clean and being respectful towards its inhabitants. Sustaining nature and showing Sri Lanka's beauty to visitors is the focus here, not profit.

While we did not encounter tons of animals, the ones we did see were birds of beautiful colors. The sunset, while cloudy, was still beautiful and we were rewarded with an entourage of fireflies around the boat and riverside. Breathtaking!

The dinner, kindly prepared by the family, was simple yet incredibly tasty.

Wonderful experience. When I come back to Sri Lanka, I will definitely return!

Had such a wonderful experience here. I wasn't feeling very well, so unfortunately, we had to turn the boat around, and I waited in the shack whilst my friends continued the boat ride. Hashi and Mowgli looked after me whilst I waited, and their kindness was second to none. I really enjoyed talking to them and learning about their lives and how they have built their business. I have a lot of admiration for their determination and hard work. Thank you so much Hashi and Mowgli for a truly wonderful experience. I was disappointed that I had to give the boat ride a miss, but your hospitality and warmth meant the world! Take care and hopefully see you again soon 🥰🩵

Incredible experience! I loved meeting Mowgli and I find so admirable his commitment to preserve the environment. The cruise was very special, in particular when we saw the flying foxes. The Food cooked by his family right after was also very good! Don't miss this activity ❤

Amazing experience. We enjoyed a very peaceful boat ride with a beautiful sunset followed by a authentic Sri Lankan dinner full of delicious food. Would everyone recommend coming here.

I live 5 years on the island and This tour is a unique experience the highlight of my stay in south . Amazing spot and the guide is a legend !

Maugli was our guide and he was excellent. He Knows many things about nature, the river and the animals that live there. He is very kind and helpful. I completely recommend this experience!!

Perfect way how to discover Sri lanka fauna and Flora without any environmental impact. So relaxing feel like a meditation and discovering in same time ... Then the excellent grill fish surprised us as the quality of food was good as 4 stars restaurants . We completed this evening with songs and drumbs played by the owner.... Highly recommend

This is magical! Mowgli is a wonderful and warmhearted guide! Thousends of flying dogs, thousends of lightning bugs - we absolutly adored it!

Was a beautiful and peaceful river tour in the early morning. And enjoyed some delicious local food after. Very cool guides that can inform you on the various flora and fauna.
