It’s also great value if you’re on a tight travel budget but don’t let the price affect your decision as the food is enough to convince.
Dinuka speaks good English and is super conscientious. He even cooked me egg hoppers specially one night.

Delicious local cuisine. Great cheap eat in Dickwella or Hiriketiya. They can make you kottu or you can choose from what’s in the buffet. Staff were really lovely.

The best place in Hiriketiya for Sri Lankan food! It wouldn't be the same without Dinu's family restaurant and welcoming smile. Plenty of vegetarian and vegan options to choose from, but check first as the locals like it spicy! The veggie rotti is my favourite snack :)

This is the perfect restaurant for breakfast, lunch, or, dinner. The roti is so chewy and delicious and all the curries are very tasty and fresh. The staff is helpful and friendly. And it's a much cheaper option compared to the restaurants at the beach.

Best affordable local buffet in town! I suggest to go there for lunch because they’ll have the greatest variety of vegetables during lunch.

Very clean place with wide variety of authentic Sri Lankan meals (buffet on the evenings). Place is owned by a young family which is working hard till the dawn to provide fresh and delicious food everyday.
Prices: 250 rupees for vegetarian curry, 350 rupees for chicken/fish curry, 400 rupees if together with curry you take dosa or other pieces of traditional street food.
We ate here 3 evenings in a row and tasted so many different options. Big thumbs!

Best local place to eat (by far) in Dickwella/Hiriketiya. If you want an authentic, local Sri Lankan food experience, this is the place to go. They have buffet rice and curry with good veggie options, and it's cheap, as well as kottu to order and small eats to pick from the shelves. We went back every day for the whole week we were in the area. Dinu runs the show and is an exceptional host.

Jayantha Hotel is my favorite local food place in Dickwella / Hiriketyia. They offer a buffet that changes from day to day. The Sri Lankan cuisine is usually very heavy and loaded with carbs, but this is one of the only places were you can just fill up your own plate with delicious vegetables. Also very suitable for vegetarians! The price is super reasonable.

Best local curry place in the area :) Dinu and his whole family warmly welcome all guests to enjoy a buffet style meal with several different types of curry. They mix it up so it's always a new food adventure. If you're in the Hiriketya area, definitely check out Green Place Restaurant.

Dinuka and his wife run the best local curry spot in the south of Sri Lanka; every day they prepare a buffet of healthy traditional Sri Lankan food (Dinuka proudly mentions the food has no chemicals or artificial ingredients added) and treat tourists and locals exactly the same, including when it comes to pricing.
Highly recommended for anyone staying in the Dickwella and Hiriketiya area as a reliable and delicious meal with a friendly and genuine atmosphere.

Went to Jayantha Hotel four days in a row. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were all delicious authentic so Sri Lankan food. Their egg hopper is fantastic, but only available in the evenings.

We absolutely love this place, and even though we usually like to try new places to eat for every meal we came back to this restaurant for ALL breakfast, lunch and dinner every day and here is why: the family who runs this place is incredibly nice and friendly, the food is always super fresh and made from all local and natural ingredients. Every meal we had was a taste explosion and we only paid up to 3$ for dinner including drinks! We highly recommend Jayantha Hotel for its food and great hospitality!

I just love this place 😍.
Excellent authentic food, locals and tourists come here. That should tell you something this close to all the hipster places near Hiriketiya Beach.
