Very ancient place related to great Buddhist civilization of the Balangoda area. This is bodhi tree is famous as a dethis phalaruha bodhiya among the people.

This place is located near Sadaganapura Udawalawa national park entrance.This have long history up to Anuradapura era.There is lot of evidance to prove that.Actually Bo tree in here is belive as a one of Dethis pala Bo tree.This place calm and located Katupath oya.

මෙම බෝධීන් වහන්සේ රත්නපුර දිස්ත්‍රික්කයේ බලන්ගොඩ හඳගිරිය නම් ස්ථානයේ පිහිටා ඇත. ශ්‍රී බුද්ධ වර්ෂ 236 දී අප රටට වැඩමවන ලද ශ්‍රී මහා බෝධීන් වහන්සේගෙන් පහල වූ අෂ්ඨඵල බෝධින් වහන්සේලාගෙන් එක් ශාඛාවක් මෙය බව පැවසේ. අතීත ශ්‍රී විභූතිය කියා පාන නොයෙකුත් නටබුන් බෝධීන් වහන්සේ අසල දැකිය හැක. කාලයක් කිසිදු සැලකීමකට යොමු නොවූ මෙම බෝධීන් වහන්සේ ගේ සංරක්ෂණ කට යුතු මේ වනවිට අති ගරු පූජ්‍ය දෙල්තොට ධම්ම ජෝති ස්වාමීන්වහන්සේගේඅනුශාසනාකත්වයෙන් පූජ්‍ය නැහිනිවෙල ධම්මසිරි ස්වාමීන් වහන්සේ විසින් ආරම්භ කර ඇත .
බු ව 237 දී දෙවන පෑතිස්ස රජතුමාගේ ප්‍රදේශදිපතියකු වූ මේ චන්දන නම් බමණකු විසින් මෙම බෝධීන් වහන්සේ රෝපනය කරන ලද බැවින් මෙම ග්‍රාමය චන්දන ග්‍රාම (හඳුන් ගම) නම් වී යයි පැවසේ.
