Black Cafe Nuwara Eliya

We’ve eaten great chicken kottus in 3 places rated 4,8+ before this place, but this was both the best and the cheapest one. There are 2 portion options - normal and full. We had a normal one and still had to pack it for take out. The staff was really friendly and kind. Everything 10/10!

The fried rice I tasted at Black Cafe was the most delicious.

Really friendly staff. We shared a pot of coffee but it could easily be split between 4 people, making it great value.
The food was also tasty and a good size portion.

Simple, small food shop. We took submarines and they were great! Moist, full of flavor and very cheap (took the mini one, which came hot dog size and paid only 500 rupees). I think it was the best sandwiches I had in Sri Lanka.

We stayed 3 nights in Nuwara Eliya and ate here 4 times (or even 5?). The owners are extremely friendly and care about you having a good time.
The Kottu was amazing in any variation, just like all the other dish. Don't misjudge it: The portions are MASSIVE. The full portion was enough for us as a couple. Also we very much enjoyed the Massala tea, which we can recommend.
The price value ratio was the best we experienced in Sri Lanka.

We arrived into Nuwara Eliya after a long journey and stopped at Black Cafe for some Kothu. We ordered one Veggie and one meat kothu and both were absolutely incredible. The portions are very generous and the staff is probably the friendliest we’ve come across.

Great visit in a beautiful location with very friendly staff. We read the recommendations for the delicious food and tea and it was exactly as described. The food was very interestingly spiced, very authentic and simply delicious. The masala tea with the mixture of garam masala, cinnamon stick, cardamom and strawberry absolutely convinced us! We will come back tomorrow and enjoy another delicious sandwich with masala tea.

Food was good, reasonably priced too. Will visit tonight again to try their kottu!! It's very difficult to get tasty food in nuwara eliya. This joint is a must visit .

One of the best and friendliest cafes that we’ve been to in Nuwara Eliya. We got a chicken sub and a chicken burger, and we enjoyed it so much.
