The Litchi Tree

Very special place. Driving into the garden of the Litchi tree is like driving in to paradise. Such a lush place where you literally can pick and eat Litchi’s from the tree (what a taste). The rooms are secluded and comfortable. But the best is for sure the dinner, home cooked by the owner and his daughter. This was a super nice treat, best dinner we had in Madagascar.

The road leading to the Litchi Tree Hotel is a quiet dirt road surrounded by trees. Before you know it, you are in front of a beautifully restored house and the lovely host and hostess - Hervé and his daughter are there to give you the warmest welcome I have ever received! We were shown our elegant room with everything in pristine condition - the rooms, the garden and the house. We very soon got the feeling that this would be the perfect hideout -surrounded by lush nature. A short drive away is the Amber National Park. We had our guide pre-arranged from our tour agency but really regretted not taking an excursion to the park with Hervé instead - since he was so full of knowledge about literally every and anything you can imagine. Coming back to the hotel after the park in the afternoon, we were very hungry. We enquired with Hervé whether it would be possible to get something small to eat (as there is very little choice in the area). Within 30 minutes we were presented with a lovely pasta lunch with magnificent wines and the company of Hervé and his daughter. We learnt so much from both of them in the short space of time we were there. There are very few places where you leave feeling a real personal connection and splendid memories of great conversations, excellent food and fantastic service. The passion that has gone into The Litchi Tree Hotel is one of a kind. Despite being nestled away, you will find a top selection of alcohol and food. You will also find the most warm and personalised service! The rooms are very comfortable with all the ammenities you need and the grounds and view is beautiful. I would highly recommend having an aperitif before dinner in the lounge area.
You will be transported to a well decorated, comfortable lounge with a great variety of drinks on offer. Our only regret is not getting the opportunity to stay longer - visit The Litchi Tree and you will have a stay to remember forever.

On our third week of travel in Madagascar and so far the best food to date. Additionally, we appreciate the attention to detail that speaks to quality hospitality. The nearby national park is an added benefit.

The best hotels you can stay in .. The owner is very trustworthy person and stays there all the time to supervise your enjoyment of stay .. he cooks very delicious food and the restaurant ambiance is amazing.. one of the best hotels I have stayed in and please book it

Excellent séjour chez Hervé
Vraiment un emplacement géré au top: des panneaux solaires pour gérer l’électricité, cela permet d’être écolo pendant son séjour ! Et avec le wifi pour les accros aux technologies ;)
Des chambres juste magiques! Lits à baldaquin, super moustiquaires, chaises, eau, lampes, tout le confort qui va avec, et la propreté en prime! Lits très confortables, et couettes vraiment douces et aussi confort.
Concernant le repas, rien à redire. Je n’ai qu’une hâte, revenir pour goûter tout ça! Le service est au rendez-vous en tous cas, et tout est maison avec un menu unique, fait en fonction de nos allergies/intolérances.
Le lieu dépayse totalement ! Vous pourrez profiter d’influences japonaises dans le jardin, mélangées à des plantes locales cela donne un magnifique mélange.
Vraiment, merci beaucoup pour cette agréable nuit, couplée à un beau dîner et un excellent petit déjeuner, le tout, avec le sourire et la bonne humeur !

Unique experience. Great food, very nice historical house. The owner did an amazing job. The best place to stay while visiting the nereby Amber Mountain national park.

Superbe hôtel ! Nous sommes très bien accueilli, les dîners et petits déjeuners sont délicieux ! Un hôtel à ne pas louper à MADAGASCAR !

Hôtel intéressant dans une ancienne maison coloniale. Chambres agréable. Cependant la nourriture n'était pas de très bonne qualité lorsque nous y sommes passés. De plus l'on retrouve un long bambou au bout de nos clés ce qui n'est pas très pratique pour une clé. De plus les prix sont assez élevée.

Je recommande cette hôtel même si je vous dirait de faire attention à la nourriture !!!
