A highly recommended place!
If you are in the vicinity, don't miss it. Or if you can, plan and visit this national park.
You can spend an afternoon, or even a full day here. I have visited this place in all four seasons, and it is always beautiful. You can choose different routes and walk 5, 10, or 15 kilometres. It is also a great place for biking, with plenty of climbing opportunities, which is unusual for the Netherlands. This is one of the places in the Netherlands that is unique in its landscape. Sometimes, it can be quite crowded, but not to the point where you will be annoyed. There is a parking spot at the beginning of your route, as well as a small museum (mainly for kids) and a restaurant where you can eat. There are several restaurants in the surrounding area. Additionally, there are several playgrounds for kids of all ages.

It's such a beautiful national park!
I love that it provides plenty of options for visitors to take short and long routes. Direction is also easy to follow.
This park is highly recommended for tourists who are looking for different places to visit in the Netherlands.

One of the oldest National Parks in the NL, it was built in 1930. Located at the eastern part and near the city Arhem, the park covers an area of roughly ha 5400 and is renowned for its diverse landscapes like sand dunes, forests, rolling hills and heathlands. It also offers recreational activities like hiking, horse riding, and cycling.

"Purple Hills"
These hills are called 'the Posbank' in an area in the Netherlands.
From early August on a large part of the Netherlands turns a deep shade of purple because during early autumn (late August), the flower Heathers or Heide that bloom and turns the place into a purple..

It's a beautiful park located close to Arnhem. You can easily access the park from Rheden train station. It's a small walk from the station to the entrance.
There are plenty of walking paths inside the park. Specially during the summer months you can see purple Heathers in the posbank of the park. Best time to see heathers is end of August. Its a nice place to come closer to nature and have a relaxing time.

We loved this place. It has so much varied possible routes, especially near Posbank. We liked it better than the main Veluwe National Park :)

What a fantastic walking tour!!! An easy 4km walk in hilly terrain with wide and well-kept paths, just follow the purple markers. Seeing the Heather’s in August is amazing but this natural wonderland is amazing any day of the year. Bike paths are close by if you want to ride a bike instead of walking. (You can also rent one at the info center).

Amazing! The heide in bloom in September is just breathtaking. Plenty to see, great trails, and lovely nature all 'round. For (war-) historians a must. Stay a night in the history drenched little hamlet called Ellecom. Especially the garden house at the Villa Vredenhoek was amazing! Lovely

Beautiful national park that has a charm that last across all four seasons. The walking routes take you different scenic aspects of the park, which make your hike all the most enjoyable. Keep an eye to get a glimpse of the animals in the park. We were very fortunate to encounter a cute family of bores.

Really nice place to visit. We found hills in Nederlands. 😀 We took e-bikes and made 26 km circle with small baby (maxi cosi extensions). You can make picnic there or use one of the restaurants (we used Catharina to make break ). All the paths are good marked.
- only negativ thing we did not see a lot of animals there.

Great park, lots to see, nature, and more, take your time to enjoy it, feel the nature around you, you need to pay for entrance, but you get more back, take the free bikes to bike around, so the walking too, is great to see alone, with partner, family friends, not forget to see the Kröller Muller museum inside the park, but if you do take time for both each a day

Beautiful area to hike at. You may encounter all kinds of wildlife like these 'Schotse Hooglanders'. Make sure to stay at a safe distance. They are used to people but they still are wild animals (with huge horns!!). Stay on the paths and enjoy the scenery and any given moment in the year.
