After a week of staying in Brugge we decided to hop across the border and visit the Netherlands. Trying to find somewhere local to eat we stumbled upon this little gem. The staff are really friendly and we basically let the server order for us. The ribs were out of this world, the meat just fell off the bone and was tasty to boot. The fries are probably the best we have had so far. Top marks to the staff and owners. Would love to come back again if the opportunity arises.

Went for a drive to get late lunch. My partner noticed the Sawmill on our way to Breskens lighthouse. We saw the reviews were very good so stopped in on the way back. I didn't see any specific parking for the cafe but we managed to park directly opposite. The young man who served us was very polite and helpful and recommended a good beer while we looked at the menu. Unfortunately we could not understand it as it was all in Dutch but again the young man helped with a suggestion of ribs and fries. Well, the fries were crunchy and tasted homemade, the ribs were tender and tasty and the salad and coleslaw were good too, we both cleared our plates. Overall very friendly relaxed place to eat or have a few drinks

Super place. Really nice classic Dutch food. Hot, fresh, crispy fries. You know they are good when the tartar sauce is homemade! Super friendly, patient and attentive staff. Very relaxed and nice little collection of toys for kids. High quality finish and decor.

Came here with my girlfriend and their family during their vacation. We were not expecting much, however we have all agreed that the friet were delicious! Freshly made in house and the satee sauce was awesome! They also had a variety of sauces. If you also like something exciting I recommend you to try their firey Dutch snack "Vlammetjes"!

The name didn't sound very attractive to me, however, how wrong can I be. A very cosy interior, friendly owners and a very nice "kapsalon".

Nice place; simple set up, good service. People like the place, seeing your order will take some time especially around dinner time, but that is ok :)

Gehe seit Jahren öfters im The Sawmill Cafe Essen , wurde nie enttäuscht . Bedienung immer sehr freundlich . Eine gut sortierte Karte , preise halten sich in Grenzen . Pommes werden vom Chef natürlich selbst gemacht !

Heerlijke friet! En magnifieke stoofvlees! Vriendelijk personeel! En ziet er erg leuk uit! Ook voor kinderen een leuke speelhoek! Aanrader om eens lekker te gaan eten!

Wir mussten kurz warten, weil jeder Tisch besetzt war. Aber es hat sich gelohnt: jedes Gericht super lecker. Service spricht top englisch (gut für uns Touristen, die in Niederländisch nur "guten Tag" sprechen) und ist trotz vollem Haus sehr freundlich.

Wat een heerlijke friet... Vriendelijke bediening. Prijs kwaliteit is wat mij betreft ontzettend goed. Mocht je twijfelen... Niet doen... Gewoon lekkere friet halen en genieten maar!!!

De lekkerste frietjes die wij ooit hebben gehad. Als we in de buurt zijn gaan we zeker even langs. Als we er een week zijn zelfs 2x... haha

Mega coole Location, nettes Personal und die besten Pommes, die ich je gegessen habe! Zu empfehlen ist die Joppiesaus - eine Mischung aus Mayo, Zwiebeln und Curry! Ach ja, auch der Apfelsaft ist sehr lecker, er kommt vom Bauer aus Groede selbst (wortwörtlich ums Eck) 👍

Immer wieder köstlich. Eine gut sortierte Karte, für jeden Geschmack ist etwas dabei. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist ausgewogen. Hier kocht der Chef seine Soßen selbst, das schmeckt man. Es ist in der Regel immer recht voll, sodass man besser vorher reservieren sollte.
