How to get to Shivapuri National Park:

The park is located about 12 kilometers (7 mi) north of Kathmandu. The best way to get to the park is to take a taxi or hire a car. You can also take a bus from Kathmandu to Budhanilkantha, which is the nearest town to the park.

Tips for visiting Shivapuri National Park:

The park is open from 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

The entrance fee is NPR 100 for Nepalese citizens, NPR 600 for SAARC citizens and NPR 1,000 for foreigners.

You are required to wear long pants and a long-sleeved shirt when visiting the park.

It is advisable to bring water and snacks with you as there are no shops or restaurants in the park.

Best destination in Kathmandu valley to explore for hiking and trekking. I have been in this route for seven times and each time I am fascinated by its beauty and the trials. One can start the hike from either Narayanthan or Sundarijal. There are many trails to explore.
Since it is national park, each person needs to oay 100 Nrs as entrance fees. Make sure to carry enough water and foods with you. Also, do not carry meat items, sharp objects, lighters etc with you since it is national park.

You can go along with your Bike aswell if you can carry your Bike in Back..
I have reached at Helipad 1hrs ride from Budhanilkantha,Climbing stairs carrying Bike in Back I reached to Shivapuri Peak in 212 minutes almost 3:30hrs.

Best place for hiking, totally different than other places. This is absolutely inside jungle and rivers. The waterfall you'll see just after getting inside and the whole way. You'll have river by your side. That's mesmerising. I recommend to go with groups of friends.

It was really pleasing and worth hiking,, Vishnu dwar was the best part to vibe and enjoy the nature.. route was bit difficult to travel to the view point and peak but it's fun when you are with friends.

I had an absolute blast navigating this mountain with my guide. We saw everything from wild animals, monastery's holy sites and the summit of Shivapuri. Bikash was a great guide and knowledgeable. The guides had good English capabilities and if you are in Kathmandu I would highly recommend you come see this awesome park.

Personally for me it's number 1 among near hiking places in Kathmandu.
Needs tickets for entering the national park but you can avoid that by taking the tarebhir route but for first timers I recommend the main gate cause it's much safer and not confusing. Happy Hiking. 🤗
