Situated in a beautiful town of Jiri, Jiri Hospital is a sole health institution around the area providing primary health service as well as specialized health services.
Catchment area:
Eastern part of Dolakha districts, western parts of Ramechhap, Okhaldhunga and Solukhumbu districts.
Establishment:
Established in 1960 AD by Swiss Agency for Development and Co-operation (SDC), later on handed over to Nepal Government.
Infrastructures:
Standing over more than 50 ropani of land, the hospital has got OPD Block, Inpatient Block, MCH Block, OT Block and Administrative Block all equipped with necessary equipment. There are several Quarter Blocks for the staffs of hospital as well.
Administration:
The hospital is run by Hospital Management Committee under the Ministry of Health and Population.

NSI (Nick Simons Institute) with RSSP programme.
JTS (Jiri Technical School) to run MCH and Immunization programme. Furthermore it is the practical site for ANM course run by JTS.

Jiri Hospital is situated in a beautiful place of Jiri, Dolakha District. This Hospital was established in 1957 AD (2014 BS) with the support of Swiss Government. In 1972 AD (2029 BS) this hospital was handed to the Nepal Government and later in 2064 BS it was handed to community and run under the model of Public Private Partnership.

The Hospital Infrastructures was developed over more than 50 Ropani's of land and has a separate blocks for OPD, Inpatient, MCH, OT and administrative with all necessary equipments. There are also several Quarter blocks developed for staffs of this Hospital.

The hospital is run by Hospital Management Committee under the Ministry of Health and Population and also from the supports of NSI (Nick Simons Institute) with RSSP programme, JTS (Jiri Technical School) to run MCH and Immunization programme.

The Hopital provides various services such as General & Dental OPDs open on week days, Inpatient, 24 hours emergency services, Special clinics (Diabetes and Hypertension/Musculoskeletal and Rheumatology) services, Operations: Ceasarian Section, Hernia Operations, Appendectomy, Cholecystectomy, Laparatomy, Minilap, Vasectomy, Hydrocele Operation and other minor OT services, Maternity and Child Health (MCH) clinics and Immunization serivice, Ambulance services, USG, X-ray, Lab and pharmacy services etc.

This Hospital also conducts all the preventive and promotive health service programs as per the guidelines of government of Nepal, Ministry of Population and Health. In addition to this, the hospital has been conducting regular health camps both in the hospital and in its different catchment areas to address the varying health needs of people.

This Hospital serves as the referral center for many Public Health Clinics (PHCs), Health posts and Sub health posts of this region. It primarily receives patients from different regions of Dolakha, Ramechap, Solukhumbu and Okhaldhunga District of Nepal.

Jiri Hospital was established in the year 1957 AD (2014 BS) with the support of Swiss Government as a part of holistic support to the people of Dolakha along with a technical school, now know as Jiri Technical School and Animal Development Farm, in Jiri. It was later handed over to the government of Nepal in the year 1972 AD (2029 BS). Under the model of Public Private Partnership (PPP) government handed it to the community in the year 2064 BS.

This hospital still runs under the PPP model and is operated by an operational committee compromising of 17 members from different public related sectors, and is among total of only 4 different institutions running in the same model throughout the country.

Jiri Hospital currently as 15 beds sanctioned by the government, however more than 30 beds are available to the patients to address the increasing inflow. Its services range from Outpatient department open on week days, Inpatient, 24 hours emergency services, Dental services, fully functional operation theater, Pharmacy services, Maternity and Child health care programs, Ambulance services. It also conducts all the preventive, promotive health programs as per guidelines of government of Nepal, Ministry of Population and Health. In addition to this, the hospital has been conducting regular health camps both in the hospital and in its different catchment areas to address varying health needs.
