Amazing - Well Worth a Trip.
Having read so many things about Mohenjo-Daro, it was the main place I wanted to visit during my trip to Khanewal and shoru. I was not disappointed. It was just so amazing. My only regret being that I didn't spend more time there. But next time I will be better prepared.

I stared my journey from lahore via GT road by bike its was amazing trip full of joy. I reached there within two and half hour. Around 177 Km distance from Lahore to Harrapa site .There is also a small museum which is about Harrapan civilization.

The Harappa Museum has not been highlighted as it should have been. The history of 3000 BC is being ruined by worthless people. This place would be a great asset if it were in Europe. Even the local people have no idea of the value of this place

The Indus valley civilization is also known as Harappan Civilization and is famous for its systematic planning based on the grid system. The Indus Valley Civilization was a Bronze Age civilization spreading from today's North-East Afghanistan to Pakistan and North-West India

The Harappa Civilization, also known as the Indus Valley Civilization, flourished in the Indus River valley in what is now Pakistan and western India from around 2600 BCE to 1900 BCE. It was one of the world's earliest urban civilizations, with well-planned cities featuring sophisticated drainage systems and impressive public buildings.
The Harappans were skilled in agriculture and traded with other cultures in the region, as evidenced by the discovery of seals and other artifacts that indicate contact with Mesopotamia and Central Asia. The civilization is also known for its use of a system of writing that has yet to be fully deciphered.

The decline of the Harappa Civilization remains somewhat of a mystery, but factors such as environmental changes, natural disasters, and invasions by outside groups may have played a role. Despite the civilization's eventual collapse, its legacy has had a lasting impact on South Asian culture and history, with some of its practices and traditions continuing to this day.
Archaeological discoveries continue to shed new light on the Harappa Civilization and its significance in world history.

Its a govt public place so try to visit in govt official working hours.

Parking Facility avaialble in front of museum.

You have to go on feet to witness the great ancient civilization remains.
There are different areas who are named after the man who discovered.

Harappa (Punjabi pronunciation: [ɦəɽəppaː]; Urdu/Punjabi: ہڑپّہ) is an archaeological site in Punjab, Pakistan, about 24 km (15 mi) west of Sahiwal. The Bronze Age Harappan civilisation, now more often called the Indus Valley Civilisation, is named after the site, which takes its name from a modern village near the former course of the Ravi River, which now runs 8 km (5.0 mi) to the north. The core of the Harappan civilization extended over a large area, from Gujarat in the south, across Sindh and Rajasthan and extending into Punjab and Haryana. Numerous sites have been found outside the core area, including some as far east as Uttar Pradesh and as far west as Sutkagen-dor on the Makran coast of Baluchistan, not far from Iran.
