University of Chitral

University of Chitral was founded in 2017, and situated in Seen Lasht hamlet. It is the only University serving the residents of lower and upper Chitral. Several departments, like sociology, English, computer science are active in imparting quality education at affordable fee. Co education is practiced, students and teachers are like a extended family. The university is surrounded by mountains, which added to its beauty especially in rainy and winter season. It's a charming environment for study and research. Car parking is available for students, faculty and visitors. New building for University of Chitral will be constructed in Seen Lasht, in near future.

University of Chitral is a public sector university located in the Chitral District of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa  province of Pakistan. The university was founded in 2017. It is being run by the provincial government. The university currently has the following Departments :
Department of Botany, Zoology, Computer Science, Economics, Management Sciences, Political Science, Sociology, Urdu, English, Tourism and Hotel management.

Chitral University or University of Chitral is an Educational institution serving for a better future of students. It's 10 minutes drive from Chitral Town to UOCH. It is the University from where I have graduated.
It is a blessing for the local community of Chitral specially for those who cannot afford education in the big cities.

The University of Chitral is located just on the right bank of Garam Chashma road about 15 minutes drive from Chitral city, surrounded by high rise mountains from all sides. The solitude, one can feel here. There is no frequent public tranport to travel from city to the Uni. one will have to wait for public transport. Garam Chashma picnic point is about one and half an hour away from here. In way to Chitral uni from main city one can glance top peak of Tirch Mir Mountain at few spots.

University of Chitral is established by Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in District Chitral in 2017. It is created as result of Higher Education, Archives and Libraries Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa notification number SO(UE-II)3-1/2017 dated March 31, 2017.[2]
Before inception of University of Chitral, there were two university campuses operating in district Chitral. Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University, Sheringal (SBBU) Sub Campus and Abdul Wali Khan University (AWKUM) Sub Campus.[3] The student number in these campuses were growing over period of time resulting in the provision of academic facilities had also increased manifolds. The present academic, research and residential facilities were not enough to cater for the actual requirements of all the students. The situation thus warranted the construction and development of a full-fledged University at Chitral in order to meet the present and expected high demand for higher educational facilities for students. The residents of Chitral were also demanding a full fledged University for Chitral from quite sometimes.[4] This results in the creation of University of Chitral in 2011.

Great to know about this University.... it will help people getting higher education.... students need to take keen interest in their studies.... this is the only way they can do something good for them n country. I hope competent lecturers are appointed here which deliver quality of education to the people.... setting up of this University is a commendable job by KPK govt n Imran Khan....
