What was surprising for me was the fact every 5 minutes the dragon spits fire. Kids love this statue and they usually try to climb it to make pictures.

Review for Smok Wawelski, Kraków:

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Smok Wawelski is not just any statue; it's a living testament to the fiery spirit of Kraków! With each real, intense burst of flame, this dragon not only lights up the Vistula River Walk but also kindles a sense of wonder in the hearts of onlookers. Experiencing this magnificent spectacle at night is a visual treat, transforming the riverbanks into a mesmerizing dance of light and shadows. And if you've got that perfect timing, capturing this majestic creature's fiery breath in a photo or video is truly a keepsake.

But what truly stands out about Smok Wawelski is its embodiment of Poland's trust in its people. In many places around the world, such a feature might be considered too risky, but in Poland, it stands proudly, a symbol of trust and freedom.

Much like the unbridled spirit of the dragon, as an international remote personal trainer and life coach, I believe in igniting the inner fire of individuals, guiding them towards their best selves. Whether you're witnessing the might of Smok Wawelski or working towards personal goals, it's all about finding that spark and letting it shine. Embrace the magic of Kraków and always keep that flame alive within. 🔥🐉🌍💪🏼.

According to the myth, a dragon 🐲 used to live in these lands in the 8th century and was salin by the first Duke of Krakow, who decided to found a city on the same spot. It is reminded with this metal sculpture which spits fire every few minutes

Unique and you see associations made with Dragon in every part of this city. You may see this dragon from the view point in the castle, or you can either walk down through the Dragon's den (which has a small entry fee), or walk around the castle wall to get here. The dragon breathes out flame every 5 minutes. It is common to see kids climb up the rock where the dragon stands.

It’s spectacular to watch of flames from the monuments. Many tourist stop over this place, kids like to climb the dragon statue and have fun around. The Legend of SMOK WAWELSKI says that a dragon terrorised the city for many years before being defeated by a brave townsman.

Proper Draco Nobilis (Great or Noble Dragon, fore and hind legs plus wings. Distinguished from the Wyvern forelegs and wings, no hindquarters, looks like a flying fire breathing snake) statue with a stout flame you can feel.

For the dragon statue you don't need to buy any tickets because it's outside the castle. Every 3 minutes the dragon spits fire

I can't believe they let kids interact with a monument so I can't take super pretentious pictures (sarcasm, love it for the kids).

Very unique monument that breathes fire every 5-10 minutes. It is located along a very nice walk along the river. I recommend going here in the evening to get the full effect of the fire.

Walk right up and see the dragon! This is a very busy monument, with good reason! Families love it and the area around it brings out the understanding of why the castle was placed above.

Perhaps the most unique statue in all of Cracow. A must see. Cool in style and fun twist to make it breathe fire. Fascinating history behind it and its nearby castle as well.

I believe it is one of the interesting spots to stop over at Wawel. The dragon would breathe out flame from the mouth for few seconds. Whether you are standing in front of the statue, or you are looking down from the slope, it is fun to have kids together, telling the story and taking photos.

I certainly didn't expected, after my expedition to the Krakow's castle, to meet face to face with the beast of Krakow. At first my attention was kept by the dragon, which I thought was a statue. Then the dragon statue started out of nowhere to spit fire.
I should've realize by then that the dragon were real, and this one was probably hibernating, but I was too much of a science person.
Nonetheless, my beliefs on the existence of dragons a bit shaken, and I decided to take a look at what looked like the nest of the dragon. The entrance to a cave was closed by a security door, but from which we can still see through. Here was the terrible mistake I made to look through the gate to check if the dragons are real creatures and maybe have babies.
I saw there 2 yellow, angry eyes coming at me, in a slowly and confident way. There lies the real beast of Krakow. "Meow Meow", it was yelling. Of course, I fled as far as I could before the real Krakow beast could devour me. It was probably very mad I interrupted it's mighty sleep.
Now the question is, what is the Krakow s beast ? A basilisk ? A newborn dragon ? Honestly, I don't know and I don't feel brave enough to check again. It took me a year to gather the courage to write about this creature. I hope some explorers or beast hunter will one day unravel the mystery. But beware of the danger.

Come after dark. Stand directly next to it. Have someone to take your photo when the fire comes out. You can leave now. There's a legend about it, of course. So join some Old Town tours to know more

We visited the Smok Wawelski while in Krakow and it was oretty cool to see! I think the story is more cool than the dragon itself, but still worth a visit!

The dragon also spit fire out of its mouth every 5 minutes, but you can also text a number and make it do it more frequently!

Overall a nice place to visit right on the river bed by the castle!
