Pakwan Indian Restaurant

Fantastic Indian. We didn’t have a reservation and they made room for us. Live music from the band was brilliant. And then the food… we are piggies when it comes to Indian food but I often judge them by how variable the base for each dish and how good the paratha are. This place was perfect. I travel to India regularly and this is a challenger to some of the best meals I have had there. Don’t skip it, you’d regret that choice forever!

We have at least 1 Indian meal a week and I can wholeheartedly say this food is beautiful.

This isn’t your typical Indian. The two business partners are so passionate about their cooking that they left their jobs at 5* hotels as chefs and jumped into owning their own restaurant in a town they fell in love with.
Guys thank you for your wonderful hospitality and incredible food. Your gift of providing authentic dishes to keep your local traditions going is something to be shouted about.

Incredible food and fantastic service! We had a little bit of everything, and it was all delicious. Even our 8-year old enjoyed all of the food :) Our server was super friendly and attentive - would definetly recomend this place! 10/10

My husband and I returned home to Praia da Luz a few months ago after 2 years abroad and we were ecstatic to discover the opening of Pakwan restaurant, a real gem of an addition in the heart of our town.

Since we have plenty of amazing things to say about Pakwan we should definitely begin with the warmth and hospitality of the staff. Each and every member has taken it upon themselves to make you feel as if you were an extended member of their own family which creates a wonderfully genuine experience.
Their dedication to building a personal relationships with clientele, whether you live in Luz full time or just passing through, is a fabulous departure from most Indian restaurants where you are rudely rushed into ordering so they can get you out and seat the next customer.

"Ask and you shall receive" is definitely the motto at Pakwan since the staff is always eager to satisfy every request.

All the dishes we have tried thus far are absolutely delicious. The perfect balance between fresh ingredients and the authentic flavors of India is remarkable.
Their presentation of these dishes is also precious. Roses carved out of beetroot, emerald and ruby ​​​​spices coat the barbecued surface of meats while fresh vegetables and fragrant sauces enrich the composition culminating in a triumph of colors worthy of a painting.

The love and attention to detail by the chefs can be perceived in every dish which is an orchestra of colors, scents and aromas that open up your senses. In just one bite you will be elevated from your chair and transported to the temples of the sacred heritage of India.
The vibration that emanates from each single recipe is transformed into prana, intense life force, and in return an extraordinary amount of energy crowns the dining experience. Your whole body is awakened at Pakwan and soul will resonate in harmony with the cosmos.

Since the first time we stepped foot in Pakwan we can't seem to get enough and try to indulge ourselves in their deliciousness at least once a week.
After having dined in so many Indian restaurants around the world we can safely say that Pakwan is hands down the best in Portugal.

If you're on vacation and decided to visit the Algarve, Luz might be a little off the beaten path. We can definitely promise you that a journey to Pakwan is worth the trip and will make your holidays even more memorable.

We have passed many times before when it was above the Spar but decided to try this time since moving to new premises and it was v v v v good indeed, we had the mixed non veg starter then Chicken lababdaar and King Prawn Goan Curry and all was perfectly cooked and the chicken so moist. Service was first class too so we will definitely be back for more.

The restaurant is located on top of the spar supermarket. Beautifully decorated and spacious. There is a space for eating outside provided. Service is very good and fast. The waiter really takes care of its guest. We ordered according to his recommendations - two types of vegetarian curry. They were soooo delicious. Along we had a very good mango lassi. Value for money is very good. Make sure to take meal here anytime you are in Luz, you will not regret.

This is seriously good food. Some of the best Indian food I've tasted.............and believe me I've tasted a lot all around the world. The chicken tika is wonderful and the owners went out of their way to make an authentic dish for me to try. Their vindaloo dish was excellent.
I'll certainly be heading back here when I'm next in Luz.

This is authentic Indian food. The spices and herbs are cooked perfectly to bring you the rich taste of the Indian dishes you get in that subcontinent.
The food is really extraordinarily good.
The prices are very fair and you get your money's worth.
When you like Indian food this is definitely a place to go.

Wonderful all around! Simply delicious delicious food, and superb service.
We had saffron rice, butter chicken, lamb bhung (spicy- so good) garlic naan, cauliflower dish, samosas, honey garlic prawns and sweet lassis. It was scrumptious! Service was attentive and very friendly.

Best Indian food in the Algarve! The sweetest people work there and we couldn’t be happier with our meal. We ordered butter chicken with some extra spicy sauce on the side. After a long day of hiking it was the perfect place to get takeout, but it was great atmosphere inside if we wanted to stay and eat. 5 stars!

Delicious food and great staff. Really flavorful with nice spices. Cooked very well. Came here to eat two times on our holiday and both times were perfect.

Excellent food. We are a vegetarian family, and we really enjoyed spicy vegetarian Biriyani. They were able to advise and serve swaminarayan food without onion and garlic.

Beautiful flavours in all the curries we had, went for spicey and was just what we wanted.

We just had a take away from Pakwan. It was excellent. Great flavours and ample portions.
It's always hard to calibrate spice heat levels at a restaurant but let me tell you, if you specify hot it will be Hot.
I would suggest medium heat to start with.
We will definitely be using Pakwan again

Fantastic Indian restaurant. My girlfriend and I have been here twice on two separate holidays and the food is superb. It’s well priced and I would recommend to anyone. Harry is great and served us very well both times.
