The most interesting is the ascent through the narrow picturesque streets of the old town, which remembers the past glory of this interesting place.

Not much remains of this Monument except the walls but still worth a visit to place yourself in a location where artifacts date back to the Bronze age! Last Arab stronghold to be captured by the Christian Reconquista in the 13th century

Really great experience. Not as well kept as other castles, but no entry fee, great surrounding view.

Beautiful small parish in the Algarve where you have nice views of the town. Friendly people, amazing countryside surroundings. Proximity to both Algarve and Vicentine coastal beachside. Great place to unwind and relax with family.

Nice 10 minutes visit, amazing view to Aljezur and surroundings. A parking lot for 5-6 cars right next to the entrance. No fee.

What a charming village on a hill! The castle is pretty much just historical ruins, but it’s all about getting lost in the narrow town’s pathways. Loved it!!

History is everywhere. Dating back to the bronze age this particular iteration of the castle of Aljezur is from the 10th century. Whilst not too much to see the walk up and views are worth your time. There are food storage remains and the rain water cistern is complete.

Must visit. Really nice walk up from downtown up the hill through the old houses towards the castle. Not the castle per se but the hike up the hill to the castle and the view that makes it nice!

There are a three parking spots up the hill. The view is very beautiful. It doesn’t cost to enter the castle. So if you’re in the area check it out. There are a few interesting information around the castle. They’re even in English.

It’s an old busted up historic castle. If you are bored with castles — it’s a simple, good place for a picnic, good views of the area, nice place to watch sunset (if not on the ocean). TIP: The castle is my favorite place in Aljezur to watch the moon rise — and remember, in a full moon, the moon rises at sunset. Double the fun!

The view is amazing and peaceful

Fabulous views of surrounding countryside, worth the climb. You can also drive up the narrow and fairly steep road - accessed from side road next to the river bridge in the village below.
