We had an amazing stay in late December early January.

Hotel is VERY family friendly with daily children’s activities and an outdoor pool special for children. The indoor open access pool was mostly used by children and families.
However, if you are not travelling with children you may find there are many.

If you are hoping for adults only privacy we recommend booking the ‘spa’ pass for 3 hours a day (which includes : separate pool, jacuzzi, sauna and hammam).
The spa was a highlight of our trip.

We appreciated the senses friendly lighting and good sound insulation between rooms. Helped our stay remain calm and relaxing ! Overall the hotel is visually pleasing in design

The all you can eat Ocean Buffet was a solid 7/10. Big pro : Buffet is dietary restrictions friendly with clear allergen markers.

10/10 for hygiene and cleaning of the rooms and hotel overall. Wonderful service from cleaning staff.

Excellent hotel in enviable location, fronting lovely wife beach with rolling waves & adjacent to amazing biodiversity of flora & fauna, especially bird life in adjacent nature park.

The rooms are sumptiously spacious & well appointed. Very nice & varied food, along with understated, efficient & friendly staff.

Appreciate a five star hotel, overall felt that if the alcoholic drinks were slightly more conservatively priced, clients would have consumed a little more in the evenings which may have added to the hotel's revenues, & allowed residents to spend more, relax & perhaps enjoy their evenings more, again some form of entertainment maybe three evenings a week rather than once or twice would have helped, as there is little else nearby in the lovely natural local vicinity.

Really enjoyed my ten night stay.

Have already booked to return to the same hotel for 21 days in February 2024 & planning to tour the Algarve by car.

We absolutely loved this hotel (booked 4 nights from 2nd of May). Everything here was spotless and the team was super friendly. The breakfast was very delicious and there were a lot of choices of everything you can think of. Bruno at the bar stood out for us because of his amazing cocktail making skills and lovely manners.
The room was very spacious and comfortable. The pool is one of the best and largest I've ever swam on.

I got married at The Vidamar this August and was so happy with how beautiful the reception and dinner area was setup. The events staff were amazing and kept in contact with me frequently. As the hotel is right next to the beach the sunset was gorgeous and we had our pictures taken on the boardwalk. It truly was a beautiful wedding venue.

Absolutely loved my stay at the Vidamar Hotel, it didn’t get too busy by the pool during my stay. There is a kids pool and thankfully most parents took their kids to that area. The breakfast was delicious and had an excellent selection of food that was also good quality. The staff at The Vidamar are very friendly, professional and responsive to customers.There is an adults only area with a pool but you have to reach a minimum spend at the bar to avail of the area which is unfortunate. Other than the minimum spend to sit in a kid free zone the hotel is perfect for a relaxing vacation. If you are a beach lover this hotel is a great choice.

Excellent choice to come over here and enjoying the gentle weather! The hotel is great for couples or families and for resting and relaxation! The view is beautiful and the surrounding premises really good for long walks! Safe and interesting along the coast! The Spa and the pool is very inviting and offers cosy shelter if the weather is less friendly. Highly recommended !
We took breakfast and dinner for the whole seven days and we never regret that as the buffet is really looking good and tasting great! We took hundreds of pictures!
Life music and delicious cocktails 🍹 we really felt like we have had a great holiday!

This hotel is just amazing. They go beyond your expectations in terms of hospitality and the staff are very friendly. We arrived in January 2023 for a long weekend visit and because we had a 1 yo kid we asked for early check in. They did their best to prepare one (out of three) room for us.

At this time of the year, there is only one indoor pool that you can use free of charge giving that you bring along your swimming cap.

Food and breakfast was very good and service was great.

I think I will help a lot of people with my comment. Before going on holidays to Vidamar Hotel, I started to read some negative comments between the positive ones and was actually very concerned about what I was going to find...
But after 7 nights I can only say good things about my experience. Do not care about the negative things. If you want a hotel to spend your days with the family in a near beach hotel, I can't think of a better one than Vidamar. Pool area is amazing, you have one pool for kids with heat water. Another poll for kids with non heat water and then the biggest pool I have ever been in. 65 meters long, 25 meters wide. Just unbelievable.
The dinner and breakfast area incredibly spacious, with both indoor and outdoor area. The dinner had so many options, I can't even mention them all.
Room areas, the shower, bed, everything in the measures you need...
I just want to let you know that there must exist some people that are really difficult to please. I can not understand some of the negative comments.
In our opinion, a family with a one year old kid. Amazing experience and for sure will come back.
Some small things that were not perfect but hey, it is holiday time, relax and everything will be fine.

Excellent customer service and a beautiful place. The food could use a little improvement, but great all round experience.

Good value for money, spacious renovated rooms. We were upgraded to pool room view without extra charge. Beach close to the hotel is really nice, great sunsets and nice beach restaurant. Location of the hotel is also great to explore nearby sights and beaches. You will need a rental car.

Styles itself as a five-star hotel but doesn't quite live up to it - however, considering the value for money, I can highly recommend it.

The rooms are amazing, very chic and in top condition. We noted that we travel with an infant and got a baby tub without asking. Very nice interior and exterior design, three pools, nice walk to the beach. The lobby bar is great, with nice and competent staff and reasonable prices (9€ per cocktail). Great breakfast with lots of choice and an omelette station.

The "nature view" rooms do not deliver on that promise: The view from the balcony on the ground floor was dominated by the adjacent road and parking spots. The dinner felt a bit cantine-like, with generally large selection but only few vegetarian options and fairly pricy drinks. If you want to do something else than enjoying the hotel premises, you'll need a car to get anywhere.

We stayed for my 30th birthday and the hotel went above and beyond to make our stay special! The room was sensational and with beautiful views. As soon as you enter the lobby you instantly see how beautiful the hotel is , the food was amazing and had a lot of variety to choice from. The staff was amazing and always helpful especially the waiter we had most evenings which was Silvio he was ever so polite and well warm hearted he made us feel so welcome!
The spa facilities was truly lovely and the massage I had was amazing also
We will be returning in the near future as it has been a memorable holiday.

The location directly on the beach is great, hardly any traffic in front of the hotel.
The staff is friendly and attentive , at the reception , at dinner , room service.
At the dinner buffet there is not much choice for vegetarians/vegans, they prepare vegan food individually 👍.
The guests are multicultural 🙏🏽 and despite the size of the resort , the flow seems quiet and smooth.

Absolutely excellent service, beautiful resort and the chefs so much about my well-being due to my allergies that they prepared my food separately, even delivering them to my table :) loved our time there!!

Loved this place. All the rooms apart from suites are the same size, large at 42sqm. The prestigious rooms are all on the bottom floor so limited views e.g. we paid for the pool view and we could see the hedge and the tops of the umbrellas. Buffet food was of a very good standard. The on-site Italian restaurant which is also open to the public, is ok but once was enough. The pool is enormous at 70m long and 25m wide. It's not heated though so getting in was a bit breath taking. Great walks along the boardwalks. Lovely area and would recommend.

The only negative side is that they have very limited vegan or vegetarian options for bf and dinner

We didn't stay here. Just went to a wedding. It was beautiful. The food was delicious it was a buffet, and the choices were amazing 👏. The staff were always waiting on you to serve you drinks and appetiser.

We stayed here and had a fantastic time. Beautiful rooms and hotel and pool areas are very well maintained. The staff are so helpful and go the extra mile. Will definitely return.

This hotel overall for me would probably be a '4' but one member of staff really made our stay enjoyable and gave exceptional service and seemed genuine in her approach. Our son has a CMPA and Neuza (manager at the breakfast buffet between 11th May and 16th) made sure he didnt feel left out with the choices he could have. She was extremely friendly and she is a natural in this industry. The chefs prepared crepes for him and dairy free eggs etc and most importantly she knew the difference between a CMPA and lactose intolerance! The hotel provided us with a detailed list of allergens in the food at dinner also which helped greatly and the foods at the buffet had allergen labels (although I did notice on a few occasions these may have not been 100 percent accurate, scrambled egg contained cream but didnt have a dairy allergen-quickly rectified when mentioned) so ask for the list and double check if a serious allergy. Outstanding service from her and her team.

Location is beautiful. We enjoyed endless hours at the beach and by the natural park, saw turtles a few mins from the hotel!
Negative- some staff were a bit unfriendly or seemed to not like their job too much.
You cant visit the kids club with your child- you have to leave them. This was a shame as they have a beautiful area which was empty both times but we were not allowed to play.
Should also have a small room for kids to play with parents.

Recently stayed here and have no complaints!

• Multiple swimming pools/Food places..
• easy access to the beach
• the pizza resteraunt is really nice!
• they have a gym, spa and indoor pool also..
• live entertainment in the lobby area in evenings..
• 10/15 minute taxi to most places not car and taxi I used Ubers which where reasonable prices!
• they also have a tuck shop downstairs where you can grab bits and bobs.

2nd time here . Mum's 60th birthday and the experience was awesome . Everything from food to cleanliness was just spot on A1. Careful with the buffet food though 😋 unless you don't care what the weight scales say when you get back from holiday 😉
