Pingo Doce

Great supermarket, has everything you will need, bakery, large alcohol section, fresh meat butchers section, freezer section, large chilled section. Lots of special offers on most of the time. Has a large fresh fish counter. Has a cafeteria area for meals, coffee, sandwiches etc. There are normal staff manned checkouts alongside a self checkout area. Large free carpark outside with most of the spaces under cover to protect from the sun, has several disabled spaces close to the store entrance and also has a few electrical charging spaces available. The store has a disabled friendly entrance and there are toilets on the premises.

Excellent supermarket with a wide range of fresh produce and usual grocery supermarket staples. The cafe is very good - incredible bargain for breakfast and decent meals at other times. Not too bust, self check out is usually available. A bit pricier than some supermarkets in Portimao but not materially so.

I had lunch at their cafeteria a few days ago. Maybe only one lady behind the counter understood English. Thank goodness for that as my Portuguese extends mainly to greetings and polite gestures. I had the “menu” special which meant the entree, a beverage, dessert and a coffee. All for just under 10€. I had a grilled fish which was a little bit dry and you had to carefully pick off the bones. The sides, potatoes and a bean/rice combo were good. The chocolate cake was okay - the frosting was a bit sticky. The beverage was a soda and the coffee was an espresso.

I liked that you can have a very full meal at Pingo Doce for a good price. Also, the ladies behind the counter are sticklers for the rules and at the same rime, really sweet.

Word of warning. Do not take photos of the food displayed I was told. I actually wasn’t. I was using Google translate to figure out what the dishes were. However, I did not know it’s against the law to take photos of store things. Or maybe just the food displays. Lesson learned.

Loads of fresh food options. And plenty of gluten free choices too. Free bathrooms, though bring your own paper. Has a big deli area with indoor and outside seats.

Amazing fresh foods to take back to our accomplishments for lunch and dinner. Staff spoke to us in English - all very welcoming. Easy location to enter and exit just off the round-about.

Fantastic place to shop. A wide variety of fresh products great prices and extremely helpful going out of their way. to be kind. Very grateful to them.

I LOVE going to pingo doce! Its so much fun and the products are amazing, affordable Mozzarella? This is the place to go! Fresh beets? They always have them stocked!
Be sure to stop by just for the atmosphere at this amazing supermarket!

Went here with my good pal Sam H, my guy hit the nail on the head. We LOVEEE Pingo Doce!! Living all the way in Aljezur we still would drive here just for the affordable burrata and pāo. Self checkout lady today was the sweetest she is my new favourite person ever.
ANDDDD GET THIS, they were the first place in Portugal I saw that has authentic Canadian Maple Syrup🙏 its like a hole in my heart has been filled with pure Maple Syrup from home, Thank you Pingo Doce❤

Very nice supermarket lot of choice

A superb new supermarket which for us is minutes away from the marina where we are berthed. Totally spotless and spacious. A nice shopping experience for a change!

I don't think there is much you can not buy here. Also has a very good clothing section too.

The staff are great. They laugh with me as I try my poor Portuguese on them, then reply in English. Very helpful.

Although there are many alternatives in the town especially when it comes to fish and meat as an easy one stop shop it's hard to beat.

Open long hours too, 7 days a week.

The place was too good and had all the things that we needed for a long loving stay in Lagos.

A middle size grocery shop. It has a good selection of grocery items to provide for the relevant ingredients for the daily meals. There are many good offers to choose from. It is difficult to stand the competition of so many great stores around such as Lidle, Aldi, Continente and Intermarche. It has a coffee shop to get a bite and a free parking on site. It is a shop worth visiting.

Best market fresh food

Lovely supermarket. Pingo Doce always feels a little more expensive inside, definitely not cheap looking. But the products are not really expensive. I'd say fairly priced.
