Ecoparque Cascadas de Tamanique(Hda San Benito )

The Tamanique Waterfall is a must to visit if you are in the El tunco region. IMPORTANT: wear hiking shoes or boots or at least some good running shoes. You need to go visit the local tourism building to have access to the waterfalls and a guide is strongly recommended. It was 20$ for a couple ( 10$ each ) the more you are the cheaper it is. BEWARE, the hike is not as easy as it looks. With 4 different waterfalls to visit prepare yourself to be there at least 4 hours. The hike is steep and doesn’t have any hike indicators. I suggest going in the morning due to the heat.

Worth it for sure, bring plenty of water!

You must get a guide from the tourist office first near the park in town. It’s $20 and this can be for a group. The hike and waterfalls are amazing and the water is so beautiful.

Amazing experience that does not come easy. Wear comfortable clothing, I can't stress this enough. You don't have to be in excellent physical shape but the trails to some of the waterfalls involve a full body workout.

Please coordinate with a local guide before you arrive. If you take a local guide (Tours Obed, for example), you'll only get charged $1 to cross over the private land that has access to the waterfalls. It's $2.50 a person otherwise. A guide is STRONGLY recommended if it's your first time here. The trails are not clearly marked, do not mistake your experience for the experience of the local guides. It also helps out the economy of the local town.

Plan for a 4-5 hour trip if you're visiting all of the waterfalls, assuming you're walking at a moderate pace.

Un lugar muy lindo

Добраться до водопада достаточно сложно. Обязательно берите гида, 5 долларов с человека. Без гида найти сложно, дороги к нему нет.
Обязательно берите удобную обувь, т.к. тропа очень крутая и скользкая. После 15-20 минут сложного спуска приятно искупаться в пресной освежающей воде. Спуск ко второму каскаду ещё сложнее, но каскад больше.
В общем так себе развлечение.
