Cascada Los Tercios-Suchitoto El Salvador

This is a beautiful waterfall if you go at the right time. I went in OCTOBER (rainy season) and it was gorgeous. When it’s dry there isn’t much to see. It’s a small walk and not much of a hike. You’re going down to the waterfall so there aren’t any scenic views either. If it’s rainy season do go! Totally worth the $1 per person.

We took a red mini car (tuk tuk) from Suchitoto for $2 and spent a couple of hours walking around and enjoying the various lake viewpoints. Entrance was $1 and well worth the money even without any water running over the falls.
We walked back along the road without any issue after being told that the situation has improved drastically in the last year so this is now safe to do.

We left early, around 630a, and did a tour with Mauricio. $1 per person. If you're in Suchitoto, there is no need for a tour guide. You can ask a mototaxi to take you for $3. The hike itself is short, but of course, you're hiking through rocks. There wasn't that much water when we went. Beautiful viewpoints to bring lunch and stay for a little while.

Amazing place. Well worth the visit. It gets crowded with locals on weekends.

A 30 min walk out of town, heading east. $1 entry. Went one evening and nobody else was there. The walk down the waterfall is steep. Can also view from the top if not able to get down. No water in March due to dry season but the rock formations is enough to come here. There are also a couple of view points looking over the lake and hammocks to enjoy the views.

We went on a guided tour here from San Salvador and the entry was $0.50 per person. The hike down to the falls was a little steep and not that easy so I would recommend it for people not wearing appropriate shoes because there’s always the possibility of slipping. We went on a Wednesday morning and there was no one there. My mom used the restroom and there was no toilet paper so we used our own so keep that in mind. Then there is an amazing view of the lake with places to sit.

Definitely worth a visit. It's an easy 25 min walk from Suchitoto (no guide needed). The entrance fee is 1$. It has unique hexagon shaped rock formations and is a very beautiful site.

Recently discovered this location via YouTube videos and must say, it's worth a visit. I went during dry season so no actual waterfalls but we did hike down. The place has it's own Mirador (lookout point) of Rio Lempa with hammocks, chairs and tables. I'll be visiting again when it's raining season.

It was breathtaking to see this beautiful, majestic waterfall. It's a short hike down to see the waterfall however I would definitely recommend to wear hiking shoes for this. These rocks could be a bit slippery and you need a good grip while climbing up and down. It took me a while to get down and let me tell you it's worth it. The formation of these rocks looked like they're were stairs. I was mesmerized by the texture. Amazing place to visit and relax. And there minuta station is so good. They have all flavors and they are deliciously flavorful. A great place to appreciate the beauty of nature.

It’s such unique natural creation , breathtaking views! It is a little challenging to go down to the bottom but worth the walk, it’s a must seen point in Suchitoto.

Honestly one of the most amazing places to visit in El Salvador. Cost me only 0,5$ to enter and I was there alone to enjoy the falls, shower in them and take pictures.

An Excellent place to observe a nature. There is also a place to see the lake. The shares of the rocks at the waterfall are really interesting.

This palaces is amazing even without water. Make sure you get a guide to help you with the walks down.

Really interesting rock formations, and a great spot above to catch views of the lake. Don't expect to see water falling, as it is usually dry, but it is nonetheless impressive

A beautiful place, that’s leaves you questioning a lot, I wish I was a geologist or something. The rock structures are beautiful. Mother Earth is amazing.

Beautiful columnar basalts! Unfortunately, there was no water flowing due to the dry conditions.
