Peace Arts Center

An important and thoughtful place run by fantastic people. The centre is a touching tribute to victims and those who continue to work for peace, art, and justice. Come to reflect and ponder and support the work and community.

Do not miss this when in Suchitoto. It's nice to see the students learn musical instruments and be involved in the arts for free. There's an entrance fee that supports this cause.

Great cultural space with evolving exhibits! I had the luck to visit during day of the dead and they had a gallery labeled "Altares" in memoriam of people who is no longer with them including Panchita. Panchita was a town-relevant and well known donkey who carried the statue of Jesus during holy week. Interesting to see the contrast on cultures.

Amazing lunch for a cheap price - come early before they sell out of the good stuff (like every comedor in El Salvador). Also a great environment and project to support.

This is an amazing place. Not to be missed. It is dedicated to healing the wounds of war through the arts. Volunteers are magnificent and give of their time and talents freely. It was founded by a remarkable Sister of Charity, Sister Peggy O’Neill. Please do not miss visiting this unique place. We have brought groups from Arkansas to the Centro many times and it has been a memorable experience for all.

Simple and clean accommodations in a secure compound. The cost is $13 pp for a shared room. I simply asked at the museum cafe and was in a room in 5 minutes. Good attention.

Good place to learn about Suchitoto's past. It is a small museum and an art school.
The videos about the civil war are educational but gory, try to avoid them.

Brought here by tour guide some great artwork featured here by the community a center giving the towns children and adolescents a place to learn and create, historical church under renovation but overall lovely place to visit

Had a group of 18 for breakfast and they accommodated. Very welcoming with great service.
