Seavana Beach Resort Koh Mak

We stayed in the Beach Front Suite for three nights during our month-long trip to Thailand. This was our second location of many to come. I am writing this review after our trip, and I highly recommend this as one of the best places we stayed during our journey.

I highly recommend staying at this hotel if you are in Koh Mak. Our room was unique and offered a lot of privacy. We even tanned naked on the terrace on the second floor. The hotel offers yoga classes led by a yoga teacher from Belgium who has been living here for 8 years. It was an incredible experience. During our 3-day stay, I was able to have a private lesson with her and participate in two group activities. We also had a 2-hour workshop where we released a lot of emotions and had a great time. The only downside was the poor breakfast. However, the coffee in the restaurant was terrific. We enjoyed our stay so much that we are already planning our next trip back here.

P.S. I was worried about getting bitten by sandflies since I have an allergy and had a bad experience last year in the Philippines. However, I applied coconut oil every day and didn’t have any problems.

Stayed in a beachfront suite. Absolutely the best location right on the beach. The beach is beautifull. The water is clear and calm but most places not very deep. The service at the resort is great. The beachfront suites are nice, things are working and the view is fantastic but the interior, especially the bathrooms is somewhat dated. All in all a very nice place that we would love to come back to

We stayed in a villa next to the beach and it was so beautiful.

Every detail in the hotel is well thought out and the environmental thinking is visible in every way.

Me and my partner was there for first time for new year trip. Did not expect anything that much at first but it turns out the place is amazing and perfect fit with anyone who looking for the place far away from crowds and enjoy with the sea, paddling kayak, walking on the beach. It’s quiet,small-private island but yet plenty places to discover. most of people there in island are kind, relax, chill (even some don’t but it’s normal right 😬 anyway overall still so goooood). Staff hotel very nice and friendly and they work professional.

If you like this kind of energy. I recommend to come to this island and off course stay at Seavana. Anyway you might need to plan ahead. I think it’s high demand and often fully booked sometimes and you need to reserve the bike ahead as well sometime because for me, it was new year period. Have no bike however we didn’t regret anything because we more than enjoy and spend a quality time in Seavana.

We definitely come back there for sure, can’t wait to be there again.

What a perfect place to chill, the Seavana Resort on Koh Mak runs along a beautiful swimming beach laced with white sand, deck chairs, loungers, and hammocks. Our room had a seaview through the grass and trees, and a lovely big deck to sit to relax on with chairs and an inbuilt day bed. The rooms were large, two great big beds, and had everything you needed. Big bathroom area. We could not fault this place. The staff were just so friendly and helpful, a shout out to the lady who ran breakfast and the bar, sorry we did not get your name, but so smiley and happy and the bar made the best moijitos. the restaurant was very cool, a delicious breakfast with great cappacinos. every meal we had, we enjoyed, loved the sea bass and cashew salad dish. the bar area was on high deck with bean bags where you could chill out and look at the stunning view.  We hired a golf cart for like $40 NZ for 24 hours, and that was awesome, we drove around the quiet island, stopping at beaches, cafes, and shopping. There was another resort along the beach by the pier, which had a shop, a restaurant, and a cafe that did ice cream . We went across to Koh Kham island, the abandoned hotel, and the beach was beautiful, and we really enjoyed the swimming in that beach.  So many tourists visiting but plenty of space to swim. Only lasted an hour, not much to do other than swim and sunbathe, which we would do back at seavana. We were concerned when we read the reviews about sandflies. we stocked up on DEET, but we did not see any, other than after sundown sitting on our deck a few were flying around, but at the bar, the beach, the restaurant, we never saw any sandflies or mosquitos.  I would definitely recommend this magical piece of paradise.

Almost perfect hotel on Koh Mak with very friendly staff always smiles and say sawasdee. Just beach in front of hotel is not so good during low tight and is needed to go about 500metres east on beach to pier where where is possible to swim even during lowest tight and also no sharp rocks in the water too.

Some pros and cons from my experience.
Pros: Great beach and view. Lots of space and trees on the property. Good restaurant. Friendly staff. Free pick up from the ferry terminal.
Con: The size of the superior room we had was maybe half of the 70qm that were listed in the booking.

Considering everything it is a good choice for a holiday stay on Koh Mak

Spent an afternoon here and have made a note to self that this will be the place to stay if we return to Koh Mak. Infinity pool looks onto the best beach, with views of Koh Kahm.

When You visit Koh Mak definitely must stay at Seavana. Beautiful place with great, friendly staff. They have Sup, kayaks, bikes for hotel guests.
Breakfast are very tasty, restaurant is delicious, they have a lot of typical Thai dishes. Highly recommend to stay at Seavana.

4 nights in paradise! First time in Koh Mak and also Seavana. Lovely staff, who made everything to make us feel welcome. Best beach on the island. Hotel guest can use kayaks for free. I recommend to go and paddle to Koh Kham (nearby island, 15-20mins.). Remember that you have to pay when visiting Koh Kham (on Dec 2023 it was 200baht, inc. access to the island and soft drink).
We stayed in garden deluxe rooms. Only "bad" thing was the mouses or some other night animals, which wake us up during the night, when running in the roof. 😅 Otherwise the rooms very really spacious, house cleaning came everyday and we had a nice view to the beach.
Breakfast was super and the coffee excellent!
We rented scooter from the hotel, those were bit outdated, but worked enough for our needs. Resort is bit remote, so if you want to eat or see something else, we recommend to rent a bike or scooter to see the island.

Wonderful place. Very beautiful, chill, lot of space, friendly staff, great food. We loved it and would like to come back in the future.

The receptionist Joom is very welcoming and gives you all the information you need. She is very friendly, calm and efficient.

We had a seafront villa with the most spectacular view and sunsets. The only downside is the mosquitos can get inside through gaps in the roof. Sleep under the mosquito net that's provided and you'll be fine.

The food was great and we loved the farm to table concept. Good breakfast and splendid a la carte offer. Compliments for the friendly serving team and the kitchen staff!

You can take a kayak for free, rent a motorbike, confirm boat tickets, they provide a very flexible service overall.

A piece of a paradise. Wery peaceful and quiet beach. Unfortanately we stayed here only 2 nights. Hopefully we can Come back here some day

A bit remote but in a very nice beach, with amazing pool views and a fantastic restaurant serving upscale local food.

Still the best hotel on the island. Went there for the third time now and will definitely come again.
What makes this hotel so special is the staff. The staff is so friendly, nice, welcoming and helpful. Without the staff it would just a nice hotel, but because of the staff it’s like heaven on earth. Thanks again for having us.

We had one of the oceanfront houses. Super nice room with a direct view of the ocean. Friendly service and fabulous cocktails. The food was delicious - i recommend the green curry.

We had a fantastic 4 night stay at Seavana and cannot recommend this wonderful resort highly enough. Staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble and they go out of their way to make you feel welcome and to make your stay special
Fabulous food, very affordable to eat in the resort itself unlike many other hotels we have stayed at. The beach is private and insanely beautiful. Free to use their kayaks, lots of snorkeling places nearby and they rent out bikes and scooters to explore the lovely, quiet little island. We will be back! Thanks for a fantastic stay Seavana!

Amazing views and great food at the restaurant with a long menu and many choices. Tried both Thai food and western food and both were great. Nice breakfast with, among other things, homemade yoghurt. The staff was very welcoming, helpful and always happy. They also offer a lot of activities such as massage, canoeing and SUP. They arranged the ticket to the speedboat and picked us up when we arrived at the pier. We stayed both at the superior sea view room and the Seavana suite beachfront, and both were great but I really recommend the beachfront where you have a private garden just in front of the beach and perfect views. I would recommend this place to all that want a relaxing quiet holiday in a perfect place!
